I'm flying from Manchester next week and had thought I'd have to pack my bottle in my checked luggage but if I can take my empty gym bottle through it'll save me some money (and effort)
I regularly take 2 750ml sports bottles though0 -

Sad as it is this makes me much happier about the trip. I often but a meal deal as I think the money water costs on its own is ridiculous but then stuff ends up uneaten. Now I will pack my pink sports bottles in my carry on safe in the knowledge I will be plenty hydrated!************************************

We have had empty (shop) water bottles taken from us by Security at a few Airports but they are not allowed to take your own empty Sports bottles from you. Always put them inside our hand luggage not in the our rucksack bottle holder.
In some Airport toilets there are notices which tell you it is not drinking water even when it is cold.0 -

If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

Because sometimes you are standing in security line for ages and just want something to sip on until it's your turn, when you can then just dispose of it.
Well that might explain a small amount of the stuff, however full bottles, 4 packs of beer etc, come on, also we do early flights, We've never had to wait that long a queue for security, 5 minutes at most so standing in a security line for ages isn't the issue. Like I said mainly down to people stupidity.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

*blushes* Happened to us on the way back from Orlando last year. Husband had packed an unused bottle of wine in his hand luggage, not even thinking about the restrictions. Very embarrassing at baggage check and the rest of us had to pretend we weren't with him."Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."0
