Anyone who is entiled to an upgrade Three have released new discounts. Loyalty discounts- £5/£10/£12/£20 off for life. On 12 or 18M contracts. The amount of discount depends on your value to Three and price plan you want.
The no handset deals have gone now. £20 seems to be mainly 18 month contracts mostly with pre 2007 handsets
Incoming calls to your number now count towards your offers ( ie they make money from other networks incoming calls ) & also you plans overspend - both for the last 3 bills on your account -

( I'm on VT500 @ £25.00pm )

mine:

28/05/07 £33.51 overspend- 8.51
28/04/07 £61.46 overspend- 36.46
28/03/07 £126.45 overspend- too much too mention roaming !!!!

retention deal:

Free Nokia 6288 on Directtalker1000 (750 mins 150 txts ) 20 quid discount for life! = 15 a month for life !!!!:D

Do you mean ring 18185 at the weekend from your 3 phone or home phone?

I have rang them 2 different times in the last couple of weeks as i have 2 contracts with them which ive had for 3 years now, its £30 per month for 500 minutes and 100 texts. (Have always had a new handset sold for around £180 and also £180 credited by them free to the account so in effect free contract for the year,, unless the kids have gone over which they often do by about £10-20 a month each.)

Anyway, the kids now have another contract phone flext 35 with TMobile (actually have 3 contracts each ongoing at mo until the other 2 end shortly) so will not be needing their 3 phones. Me and hubby are with o2 and are thinking of taking over the 3 contracts as o2 are offering us appalling tariffs on upgrade so we have got our pac codes through yesterday.

As we were paying £10 per month for o2 100 minutes and 300 texts we would like as similar as possible from 3. They have confirmed they will be able to transfer our numbers over even though they are current 3 contracts we will be taking over, which i think is really good. Was offered among others Nokia E65 or Nokia 7390 (find this a bit odd as its not even on their site) with 400 minutes, 1000 texts, 50 video minutes, 50 picture messages and £5 free downloads for £20 per month instead of £35.

As my pac code is valid until 2 july and my 3 contract is officially renewable 20th june im holding out a bit longer to see what happens. Do you think theres any chance of getting the above package for £15?

well thats a great deal for the E65 @ £20 a month, this handset has WI-fi and is new out this year - take it ! thats an order, done better than me - remember thats for life discount, come upgrade times you will always get a better handset than me - 6288 has been out for ages now, if like me you want the cost down to £15 on that priceplan ask what alternative mobiles are available to you other than E65 for less ££'s a month - I did - first offer i got was E65 £20 on VT500 ( £5 off ? - NA ) I told them I'd sacrafice a worse mobile for extra off, but needed more mins & some texts ( " as you can see from my usage " )....BANG! £15 for life with 6288 ;)

PS) ring mobile via 18185 to boost your incoming calls prior to renewal @ 2p a minute, might bag you a great discount ;)

    directtalker includes :

    50 UK video minutes
    50 Combined UK Video/Picture Messages ( MMS)

god the website lists 6288 @ £35 pm on directtalker1000, though it would have some kind of 1/2 price deal for X months, seems not !

    even more chuffed now :D

Was yours a 12 or 18 month contract you took?

Can you confirm for me that i have to have a '3' phone to be able to use their sims? I have a Nokia N80 currently which i am more than happy with and would prefer to just use the 3 sim in this if i could but uve heard it has to be a 3 phone. Now i know last year they were offering an N80 on the 3 network so does that mean my N80 will work with their sim or not?

I dont quite get it. Do they do something to the phones that make them work on their network or is it just a matter of certain models of phones are compatible? My hubbys phone that he would be happy to keep using if possible with their sim is a Samsung D500, would he be able to?
  • the samsung d500 is not a 3g handset unfortunately.

they say 3 but any 3G phone will do ( dont lock the phone to 2G in the menu for extended times ) and yes N80 is 3G, boabs yer uncle ;)

you could use £5pm x series and set up wwwfring.com on N80, people can skype/instant message you & call you on a 01/02 number if they dont call mobiles ;)

my mate @ uni calls me for 0.05 connection via 18185 at home on me mobile :)

18 monther but @ £15 for life - i dont care, bills used to £100's before 3 came on the UK market - never thought £ 15 get so much -£ 15 for 2 at the cinema, what does it buy ? ( well before I invested £11 a month in Cineworld unlimited & Orange Wednesdays ;), taking in Diabetic juice & sweets from Boots - they check bags at my local Cineworld for non cinema purchases!! )

as mobie insider the samysung is a no no but you can get a 3g for peanuts these days...ebay !

    £4! what priceplans INSIDER ?

Oh didnt realise 18185 was a prefix for cheaper calls. I currently use 18866 for day calls.

I have read some bits about skype with the 3 phones but dont fully understand it. Do i have to have one of the x series packages to be able to use that feature do i? Then when i use it do i have to pay anyone other than 3?

So as long as a handset has 3g ability the '3' sim will work in it then?

    Thanks

Just did this myself yesterday.Called up for pac number and they ended up offering me the following deal:

    £20 off for life
    £30 credit on my account
    500 mins + 100 text for £10 a month(effectively £7.50 a month with the £30 credit)on a 12 month contract
And a free sony erricson K800i

With a deal like this I had to accept and will give phone to my son who was on payg.
