Cancel Tmobile & get Pac
Hi Guys
I'm looking to see if I can get a definitive answer on how to go about this.
I'm nearing the end of my 24-month pay monthly contract with Tmobile - finishes on August 31st.
I plan on moving to another provider and wondered if I can eliminate any extra charges if I time things correctly.
From looking at other threads, it would appear that if you phone up and ask for your PAC code, then this automatically signifies that you are terminating the contract - and then you have 30 days in which to use that code - or else Tmobile will continue the contract??
Is there a sensible way to time this and avoid unnecessary extra charges?

On Vodafone, it appears that using a PAC to shift networks automatically ceases the contract when your number is swapped. However, there is no guarantee that is the case on other networks.
Usually, you have to give 30 days notice to terminate a contract. The safe bet would be to give 30 days notice and also ask for a PAC code, use the code after 25 or so days (the network change should be completed in 1 ~ 2 working days), so don't arrange the swap on day 30.
As always, check the T-Mobile small print...0 -

my experience is with Vodafone as well, but i believe it to be true of all networks.
So as long as you use the PAC code in the last month of the contract you wont be charged any extra, however you might lose abit of money as the phone will be cut off earlier but you would have already have paid the line rental for the whole month.
Some networks refund you the difference on your final statement.
Id suggest not trying to use the PAC code at the last minute, ie a day before the contract ends, because sometimes the porting can take time, and if it does, you could end up paying an additional month. I would say a week before might be the best time0 -
