Im not sure about other folk, but i find the Windows Phone terrible. The apps are shocking. Most big companies apps dont work on windows.... ir Sky Go, BBC Iplayer.... top games arent available either.

If i had a choice of phone, id be on an android or Iphone.
Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?

What is the point you are trying to make?
I don't like iphones , think they are over rated, however the customers have a choice of OS and devices, just because you/I don't like one doesn't mean the mfr should cease trading, the only lack of the Windows and blackberry handsets is indeed, lack of apps, the hardware is up there just like the other tops brands.

I like it- it's nice and stable and intuitive. The lack of certain apps (Instagram in particular) is a tad frustrating.

I've got a Windows phone and its not that bad. I've also got an Ipod (4th generation) and as much as there are far more apps on Apple devices, the Windows phones aren't terrible.

Only thing that stops me using so many of the apps (radio app, BBC app...etc) is the worry about cost as I'm on a payasyougo mobile. I've never eaten all my data but its a new-ish phone (4 months) so I'm still testing the water.

Its easy enough to use, easy enough to search and download new apps and has frequently updated reviews for many of the apps you can buy or even get for free. Its also great to control the size and colour of the tiles and with further apps, even the icon for your apps.

Yeah I'd love more apps as apparently there are 5x more apps possible on android devices and more still on Apple devices, but as far as knowing what other apps are missing, barring maybe 5-10 apps on my Ipod, I'm still not clear on what apps I'm really missing out on.

Having done a little research, the only mainstream app that seems to be missing from WP is SkyGo, but even that is only available for iOS and some (not all) Android phones. On paper, Android does "benefit" from many thousand rubbish or even compromised apps in their App Store when compared to the others.

If you really want to be at the "pinnacle" of apps, the only real choice is iOS, as even Android misses out on some apps or has delayed releases on others when compared to iOS.

I have had 3 Android handsets and have a Nexus 7 tablet.

4 months ago, my sim only contract ended and I decided, primarily out of curiosity and boredom, to get a Windows phone.

Did a bit of research and selected a Nokia Lumia 720.

Now I agree that there are far fewer apps for Windows phones than Androids. Many Banking apps, for example, as well as games (I don't use them), variety of ring tones and many other commercial apps.

Where I do find the Lumia better is battery life - double any Android and more than 3 times some.

Nokia Maps when used as a Sat Nav knocks Android sat nav app into a cocked hat and, of course, I can use Nokia maps overseas with my data switched off. Worked in Antigua and no big bills when I got home.

I like the way the apps switch, but that's personal.

I don't have to close apps to get sufficient space on my handset as I had to do with my Android.

So, I see good things and bad things in both, but like the 720 (for now !!!)

You DO have a choice, there is no law that states your phone must be a Windows phone.

I don't like Salt & Vinegar Crisps, its why I choose to buy Cheese & Onion.

I've had a Nokia Lumia 925 for a few weeks now and I've loved it. Easy to use and I really like the live tiles. Works well with my Surface/LiveID/SkyDrive combo.

That said, I've had to send it back because it suddenly stopped working. Every time I turned it on I was just presented with a blue screen and unable to do anything. I hope this isn't the start of things to come.
