Just had a load through in gmail from before I switched to yahoo as well, plus on another gmail test account.

So a backlog clearing here as well?

I would be surprised if that happened. But it might. It depends on how the email provider deals with blocked email.

Well, seems it did happen looking at the timestamps for when the emails were actually sent and should have come through, but didn't.

They were sent yesterday, and have only now just come through en-masse.

    Weird, but there you go......

    Hi tttJay,

I can see plenty of emails going out to you. Would you be able to speak with your private email supplier and see if they are blocking the emails? Please PM me if you need assistance with this.

    Hi Ian

I was going to send you a PM but as you "are on here" I thought I would reply this way :) the email server my son uses are not doing any blocking / filtering of emails at all....but unfortunately, I am still not getting anything at all :(

I've just had half a dozen through, evidently playing catch up from the timestamps on them. I'm gmail, just to remind you.

I changed my email to my <name>@o2.co.uk address - an old email address that still works from when I used O2 as an ISP a few years ago... and I get every email on this for some reason - not a single fail so far. Every thread subscription, daily digest, post notification, and the confirmation email confirming my email address change.

I've tried an @ntlworld.com (Virgin Media's emails), a @gmail.com, and a handful of domains I own that are hosted in different data-centres, ranging from a dedicated server that I host a web-game on and has run for 10 years, through to a typical cheapy shared host with cpanel etc. installed. All of these have failed to receive emails from MSE - even though all my self-owned ones have no junk/spam filters server-side at all (and my email client isn't junking them).

I can't explain it. There were no problems before the weekend, and none of these domains have any problems receiving emails from anywhere else, or to/from eachother. But certain domains (@o2.co.uk) seem to be receiving emails absolutely fine, whereas a whole host of other domains (Virgin's ISP with @ntlworld.com, Google with @gmail.com, an old stable dedicated server I run, a handful of shared hosted domains elsewhere I run) all fail to receive any emails at all (no sign of them anywhere, no junk filters etc. etc. - they just don't ever have a chance to arrive).

You do wonder if the forum is actually sending them in the first place, despite the appearance from logs that it is? The send via the php mail() function can go wrong if for some reason the email or something else pulled from the database is malformed?
