Make TV always be on HDMI setting

HDMI kindof IS AV - it's an audio/video input and if you have this setting on your TV, this is what you should use.
Is it?
I don't have the Sky box connected with a scart lead, it is connected with an HDMI lead.
So explain to me how using a AV scart input would work for HD.0 -

Are you deliberately trying to be obtuse ?
You have had several relevant suggestions put to you and all you do is come up with totally irrelevant points.
Why are you asking for an explanation of how a Scart input would work for HD ?? - no one said it would !
Have you actually been through the menus on your TV ?
If you have a single external input (from your Sky box) that is still an AV input. Whether it is HDMI or Scart is totally irrelevant. An HDMI input is an AV input just as much as a Scart input is.
I have a Sky HD box (with HDMI) - I told my TV to select AV when it powers up - it does just that - hardly rocket science.0 -
On both of my TV's I can use the Sky remote to change the tv input.
I press TV button at the top and then you can use the Help button to cycle through the TV inputs. You will need the Sky remote programmed to TV volume for this to work.0 -
Yes, HDMI IS AV. AV is Audio/Video. SCART is AV. AV is not SCART. A VHS player is Audio/Video, A TV is Audio Video. Any electronics that do picture and sound can be called 'AV'. I did NOT say that SCART can carry your HD signal.
What I meant by my post was if you have an option on your TV, like in the Panasonic example, to choose between TV and AV at power on, you should choose AV. You're being offered a choice between turning on to the TV tuner (which your wife doesn't want) and an AV input of some sort. You want to choose AV.0 -

There isn't that option on my TV.
Or if there is, I can't find it.
Is there anyone with a Sony Bravia who has solved this problem?0
