Yes this is exactly what I was thinking. I'm sure I read somewhere (possibly on the ebay community thread link), that even if you discount, ebay will still charge you FVF on whatever the original selling price was.
I'm just about to go through all of my listings, changing everything to meet the new TRS status. So need to calcualte costs, free p&p on everything etc. Also need to remove all wording about offering Combined Postage charges. Its going to be a long day!0 -

If a buyer orders multiple items from you, they must add them to the basket and then request an invoice from within the basket if you do not have combined postage set up.0 -

Look in the FAQ, under "How can I lower my P&P costs to get the lowest final value fees?"Offer postage discounts for multiple items in 1 order. This can increase customer satisfaction and order sizes.0 -

Thanks. So basically if all of my items are free p&p, I can discount the actual selling price of say 3 items to reduce the hidden duplicated postage costs.0 -

No, it implies you will be charged FVF on the postage element of whatever you charge on the invoice.
You cannot discount the item price, so if you offer free postage on your items, you will not be able to deduct anything off the invoice, and would need to make a manual refund through paypal.0 -

It looks like possibly the top option of these three could do it, maybe?

Offer a discount for a multi-item purchase that totals a certain cost.
Offer discounted or free P&P for buyers who purchase multiple items from you.
Prevent P&P costs from exceeding a set amount for any order.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0 -

I have this on my items - spend £10 and get free postage (though obviously this is actual free postage, the cost of postage is not built into my items).0 -

Hmmm so as I said earlier in this thread, if someone buys 3 different items from me now and they all have free p&p, but I've incorporated my p&p costs in the item cost (as ebay have now said to do!), my buyer will basically pay 3 x p&p costs, but before I would give them a combined postage discount.
I'm just trying to find a way round that (can't do a multi variation listing as all items are completely different), unless ebay are bringing in a new pricing discount during invoicing.0 -
Why would you refund someone if they bought more than one "free" postage item?0

That's been 'in the pipeline' for more years than I remember. I think I read something that it won't be long.unless ebay are bringing in a new pricing discount during invoicing.
Essentially though you can't give a post discount. Some sellers offer other incentives which are easier to manage than offering a part refund. Buy 4 get one free, etc.. Or as I've been doing keeping it myself! I do offer a discount on upgraded post though and that works a bit..0
