Well if it it doesnt go to that then its a pointless exercise on their behalf
so if they refuse to name them, then its going nowhere0 -

I don't think anyone actually say him taking the plugs, just that some were on his bench and the ones in the car apparently weren't changed. If anyone did see him take them home that's ok as he can prove they were ones he bought from the parts dept (by credit card thank goodness).
No CCTV in the workshop.Oh dear, here we go again.0 -

It may come to instant dismissal for gross misconduct on the spot, so getting one in and on record gives you a fighting chance at a tribunal.Be happy...;)0 -
If it does come to disciplinary, he would have the right to see any statements against him before any hearing.
As a rule, I'd say contact Unite straight away. However as they sometimes want a qualifying period before they get involved, it might be worth his while phoning the regional office or national contact number, explaining he wasn't aware of his rights re joining a union and hope he gets someone sympathetic. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
He is ringing the union tomorrow to see if they are able to help, and our job tomorrow night is to put a grievance together.
Don't feel so alone and worried now thanks to the fantastic helpful people on here.Oh dear, here we go again.0 -

Personally I don't think they have a leg to stand on and it will all be a waste of time and worry. On they other hand we have to take it seriously just in case ...Oh dear, here we go again.0 -

When did this happen?
Has he still got the packaging from the ones that did go on the car?Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -
Happened at the end of May apparently.
The packaging won't help as they use hundreds of spark plugs in the workshop every day and the boxes all go in the bin, so anyone could pick up as many as they wanted and having them is no proof of anything.Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
So why suddenly has this been brought up now? Has anything happened at work outside of this event?Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0
