Does anyone have a 7 seater? I do fostering and our placement is having a baby plus we have 2 kids so rather than use 2 cars all of the time we were thinking of getting a bigger car.
I'm just wondering what ones are good without them being the size of a bus. I currently have a rav 4. Thanks.

Do you definitely need 7 seats or would 6 do? The Honda FR-V and Fiat Multipla both have 2 rows of 3 seats, so they aren't any longer than normal cars and still have decent boot space.0

6 would do but there will be 3 car seat as my children are 4 and 5, but as long as they are a decent size it would work.0

Ive just bought a ford Smax and whilst it is bigger per se than a normal car it really doesnt feel that much bigger when driving.
In fact parked next to our old Mazda 6 estate Im sure its shorter in length....
This photo shows how it fits into a normal parking bay at a supermarket...0 -
If you don't want it to be any bigger than a normal car, then I would suggest a Vauxhall Zafira. They don't have much boot space if you are using all seven seats, but if you only actually need six, then you can fold one down.
They are based on the Astra, so aren't what you would call a mini bus.0 -
We have a Renault grand scenic, it's lovely to drive, really easy to put seats up and down, nice and spacious.
We used to have a zafira, I wouldn't recommend, especially if you have children in car seats, not as much room and if you want to ut up the boots seats/put them down you have to unhook the car seats on the middle row and jiggle about with them, tricky and annoying!! It was a 54 plate so the newer models may be different.0 -
I like 7 seaters but dont like the ones that feel like your driving a bus either. I would suggest you test drive the zafira and the mazda 50

I can't say I had any problems with child seats in mine. Or moving seats about either.0 -

You'd probably need all three rows of seats with a baby seat and two boosters so once the very small pushchair goes in there would be no boot left.0 -

We had to move the middle row forwards to get the boot seats up which meant that if the child seats were fitted on the middle row the seatbelts would stop the seats from moving forwards so we would have to unhook them. As I said ours was a 54 plate so they may have improved since then but it was really annoying. Also the boots space when the back seats were up was tiny.
My brother in law has a galaxy, the boot is quite big even with the seats up.0 -

You can still have one seat folded down.0
