I go to bed between 11pm and midnight. I don't work so don't have to be up at a certain time - in the summer I am usually up by 6am but in the winter it is more like 8am

I used to sleep very well until the menopause and several deaths in the family. Since then, I have nights where I just can't slow my brain down enough to relax. Tried various remedies but now just accept I may have one or two nights a week where I don't sleep at all but at least can guarantee a heavy deep sleep the day after.

Didn't sleep at all on Sunday night once I realised a Monday meeting was in the morning and not afternoon. Brain then went into overdrive thinking through life's little problems.

After a round trip of 4 hours yesterday, thought I'd have a little nap at 5pm before I cooked dinner. Woke up at 7pm completely disorientated and thought I'd slept through until morning!

Our alarm goes off at 4.30am at the earliest, and 5.30am at the latest, so we usually go up to bed at around 9 or 9.30, watch an episode of something in bed and lights out by 10, 10.30 absolute max latest.

If my husband is away and it is a work night for me, I can afford to sleep in until more like 6.30am, so I will often stay awake until 11 or 11.30. I am terrible at settling down to sleep when he is not here though.

If left naturally to my own devices I will sleep for about 10 hours a night. I don't know if that means that is how much sleep my body actually needs, but it is very nice when I can get it!

At the moment I am always asleep! I generally need 8 hours. If not more. Always been a sleeper.

Congratulations. You will sleep again, it might just take a few years though :D
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

I'm not an evening person, I can stay awake past 10 if I'm doing something like on the computer but if I'm watching TV I'll just fall asleep so usually in bed between 9:30 and 10. OH usually comes with me but sometimes he stays up and sneaks in at 1 (usually waking me :p). I wake up early though, up at 6 and out with the dog!

I once went to a New Years party and tried SO HARD to stay awake till midnight, 5 minutes past I sat down all pleased with myself and promptly fell alseep!
  • I normally go to bed betwen 11 and 1am..

When i was young, free and kid-less :) I could sleep till midday no problem.

These days im lucky if i get a chance to sleep past 7/8 am. On rare occasions i may get a lie in. Normally up for work around 7am.

Even on the weekends, i just cant sleep anymore.

I blame the Kids, OLD age and Work...for this........ :)
    :jTo be Young AGAIN!!!!...what a wonderfull thought!!!!!

I spend all day at work looking forward to the moment I can get into bed, and come the evening I wake up a bit and end up wanting to push my luck about how late I go to bed. Generally speaking I hit the sack between 11- and 1 am but I then wake up a bit tired and peed off with myself for not going to bed earlier.... only to do the whole thing all over again.

So I was just wondering, what's your bed time and is it enough shut eye?

6-7 hours is about right for me. Any longer or any less and I don't want to get up. Got to sleep about 11.30 last night, maybe 12. Woke up naturally at 6.30 feeling fine. I've tried going to sleep earlier than that and it just doesn't happen.

My DH works until 10 so whilst I'd love to be in bed for 9.30 most nights I like to stay up until DH is home so he's not coming back to a dark home and sleeping wife! :o We used to go to sleep about 11.30 but now I'm pregnant and much more sleepy than I used to be I hold on until 10.45 at the latest then I'm asleep! Alarm goes off at 7 and I never wake up feeling like I've had enough sleep, but that's probably to do with my quality of sleep (I'm forever waking up and struggle to settle back down) rather than how long I'm in bed! :o
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
