I don't think glass in food is acceptable. A major company should be more responsible. I am looking for more than £30 in vouchers for a product I won't touch again - but nothing unrealistic. Even £30 in real money would have been something....

Have you reported it then? Or just looking for cash?

Thanks for the responses. But a sarcastic edge is not necessary. I genuinely thought glass in food was a problem. Obviously not.

They thought £30 was not enough. And I should negotiate. Heinz just said this was their standard policy.

And how is any form of money going to help? There was me thinking you were after a better response/investigation and actions taken to prevent it happening again... (which is what they should be doing!!) rather than cash!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

It is a problem. You alerted to Heinz and one can hope, they carried out a thorough investigation. So people cannot be hurt. You got £30, plus have the kudos of being the person who potentially highlighted an issue.

How will more money given to you solve the problem, genuine question?

I have alerted Heinz and the authorities. I genuinely do not understand the edge in some of the responses.

    Thank you.

We (you and I) can only hope that Heinz and the authorities take appropriate action.

If I were you, I would accept the voucher and consider the matter closed.

I think it is because....it's not a good citizen thing, you just want cash. For losses and injury that haven't actually happened.

When you think about it, it does sound ludicrous no? You got £30 of vouchers. That's how a court would see it too and how, judging from the responses, most others do to.

Hipefully no one is hurt, that's all that matters, yes?

You found 2 shards of glass. After you found the first did you just purposely go looking for a second.

Naturally, I was concerned (what if a child had been eating the beans)

Never, ever say this in a post. Because the following will happen

It is because you basically want to be compensated for something that didn't happen. Just like I could be walking along the street a paving stone is too high and I think wow lucky I saw that, I could have been injured.

What do I do, I step over/around the problem and then if I'm a good citizen, I ring the council and say, there is a dangerous paving stone on this road, you need it sort, or someone could hurt themselves.

Basically, I think, you feel as though you have been a good citizen and alerted them to a problem, which when they investigate could save them £1000's and that you should have part of those £1000's.

It's a bit like finding someones £10,000 and handing it in, they say I must reward you and they give you £1, you think, stingy gits or similar.
  • Because its a small error, you spotted it, you stopped it and they will look into their procedures.

You are blowing this out of proportion
