"Blondie" - did my suggestion work? I hope it did - if not, don't take any more photos on the card as I'm 95% confident that the software will recover the deleted photos on the card - I've recovered photos from cards which had been formatted with this software - the only problem is if you overwrite them, then they no longer exist, deleting or formmating them, just deletes the "entry" not the photo. I hope this makes sense, but if you need any more help, please ask.

gonna give it a go when i get into work on monday...thanks for your help
if i get stuck....which i probably will, i'll give you a wee shout

With the camera connected to the PC, open windows wxplorer and you should see the camera as a disc drive. Again using explorer, find the photos and copy / paste them to the camera. Here is some software if you want to recover the deleted ones on the camera memory card - http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/UK/welcome.htm

sorry how do i find window explorer? is it at the bottom...could you run me through it? as in go to 'start 'etc.....thanks

I assume you've got a Windows XP Pc - If not the priciple will be similar - let me know if you can't work it out. For XP here goes.

    select START,
    in r/h pane select SEARCH,
l/h pane select PICTURES,MUSIC or VIDEO,
and then leave everything blank and select SEARCH.

this will find all the pictures on the PC (hopefully there won't be loads - if so select advanced options and put a date range in to limit the search - if you know the filenames you can put them in.

Once you've found the pictures select each one by selecting each one - right click on the mouse whilst keeping ctrl pressed down on the keyboard. When you've selected them all, keep the mouse on the last photo and left click on the mouse - this will bring up a menu and select COPY.

Connect the camera to the computer and once connected, select
    START,
    MY COMPUTER,
you should see the camera as an icon, either by name or as a removable disc drive. select it with the mouse by right clicking it to highight it, the left click to bring up a menu and select PASTE.

This will put a copy of the photos back onto the card and you're back to where you were before they were deleted. If you have another card, use that as you may want to recover the ones on the card before you overwrite them.

Before you do the above you could try recovering the ones on the card with PCINSPECTOR.

If you want to try PCINSPECTOR try the link given by VODDYMAN - http://www.snapfiles.com/get/smartrecovery.html

Download it and connect the camera with the deleted card in it. Run PC inspector and see if you can work out how to recover it - if not post me and I'll see if I can put together simple instructions.

    Great!!

Has the PC got a CD writer? as it should be one of the options "ie. Send to CD" If there is only a few photos, you may be able to copy them to floppy - 1 floppy should hold 2-3 photos. Otherwise try to copy them back to the camera as I suggested.
