Do you yet have a direct quote from RC to indicate they were aware of the bear-baiting BEFORE sponsoring the event? As already stated I have no affiliation to RC whatsoever, I just have an intense aversion to people making assumptions and stating them as fact based on the absolute rubbish printed in that rag.
I don't read it, only read the OP's link, yes of course a major co is going to send me a quote saying they knew about it & therefore in an instant risk going bust
now who's being dim-witted,
& like i said i feed my two cats RCI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

I just have an intense aversion to people making assumptions and stating them as fact based on the absolute rubbish printed in that rag.
And I have an aversion to people having an irrational aversion to particular newspapers and casting aspertions on their readership, when a quick google would show that the incident was also reported in the
Guardian, Belfast Telegraph, The Kyik Post (Ukrainian newspaper), The daily Express among, I'm sure, many others. Are they too all rags with a dim witted readership?chris_n_tj wrote: »I would love to know what the readers of this thread feed their dogs/cats on? I guess if we checked up and every single item we bought then our cupboards would be bare and we would starve. x
Which was exactly my point in my OP....
- 'Makes you wonder what else they and other household names are supporting around the world.....' -
Maybe we should be checking up more? If we took more of an interest who knows what horrors we would find. For all we know, household names from our weekly shop could be supporting !!!! fighting in Indonesia, dog fighting in Ireland, Dolphin slaying in Japan, Live dog skinning in China............

BTW I'm not so dim-witted that I didn't have you sussed
Perhaps you would care to point out where I have "stuck up for them". I simply posted a statement from R.C. in response to the original post, which gave their side of the story - there are two sides to every story, you know.
Nowhere have I expressed any opinion either way (unlike yourself and olias who are positively foaming at the mouth and spoiling for a fight) - could you point out where I have?.
You are also reading far, far too much into the fact that I am a member of their club. Most major dog food manufacturers have stands at championship shows and encourage exhibitors to join their clubs. Many of them send out newsletters with useful articles in them; give free calanders with show dates on; have links to other related offers, etc, etc. I am a "member" of many of these clubs - despite never having fed their products, and some that I have tried in the past. I also have a Tesco, Co-op, Costco and Makro clubcard, amongst others - SO WHAT????? It doesn't make me responsible for their actions in any way.
You really seem to have got yourself quite wound up about this and are coming across as quite an angry character. I do hope you can calm down and regain a little perspective so we can continue this discussion in a more reasonable tone.
If there are any other questions I can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask."Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

I used RC for TJ, we didnt really have a choice as it was a specialised food. And to be honest I didnt care one hoot who made it. My boy needed it,so my boy got it.

Mine are raw fed. I'm writing my dissertation and it revolves around the ethical implications of marketing in the pet food and health sector. Its really very interesting, dog food is of more interest to me than most, I imagine0 -

Yarrah organic wet and Arden Grange dry for my cats. I have also used James Wellbeloved, Burns, and Lilys kitchen. Hopefully all ethical brands but if anyone knows any different I will happily investigate further.0 -

Jame Welbeloved is made by the same company as Royal Canin

I think Burns and Lilys Kitchen are still going it alone for the time being, unless some one knows better? xRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. GULP. Thanks for that info.0 -
GULP. Thanks for that info.
The thing to remember is WJ and RC do not do testing on animals. The company that bought the brand name does. This company might owned by xyz.
A bit like MSE really, Martin still is the face of MSE but he doest own it as we know. Has it stopped us from posting here?
If you found out that MSE was somehow part owned by one of these compaines would you stop posting?
So the question is, do you carry on feeding your furkids on JW or Rc if it suits them? That is if you use that brand?
Would you feed these foods if you didnt know about the sellouts?
As I said in my earleir post TJ needed a special diet and RC food was the best on the market for that. So yes we bought it and I have no regrets at all.
You see its just not as plain and simple as it seems is it.? xRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Its very difficult isn't it!? I don't go to the body shop as its owned by a bigger company (P&G i think....) whose other owned companies do test on animals.
I've only just started mine on JW wet as they appear to be going off their yarrah food so thought I would give it a whirl. I did email them about their ethicalness (made up word I think!) and received a reply about where the meat came etc from their food.0
