Royal Canin supporting bear baiting....

To be fair, you did post twice stating you had recieved emails from RC that began, 'dear partner'.........

If you are really being fair, you will understand that I re-posted an e-mail that was sent to thousands of people on R.C's contact list.
To be fair, you would accept that I have no influence on how R.C. address their contacts - I just received a generic e-mail.
I also agree (to be fair) that "Dear partner" is a term that could be misconstrued by some people - especially some of the more "militant" and dim-witted who frequent this board.
To be fair, you would also accept that I am under no obligation to explain anything about myself, or why I am in receipt of these e-mails, to you or anyone else on this thread.
However, to be fair, I will tell you that I get the e-mails because I am nothing more than a member of the Royal Canin Breeder/Exhibitors club, which allows me to purchase food at a discounted price and get free refreshments at major dog shows :money:. Fair enough?
I would also point out that I merely posted R.C's e-mails in response to the original "sensationalist" post, in the interests of fairness. I am not a pet shop owner, distributor, nor am I concerned with profits from the sales of R.C. I have, however, been unfairly accused.
I like to think I am a fair person and would treat others with a fair attitude.

No, you obviously have a huge chip on your shoulder. As RC call their pet shop owners/distributers 'partners', then it was entirely fair to make the assumption that you had a vested interest in supporting them. Indeed you have admitted to being a member of their club and getting free and discounted goods from them, that to me says you are not impartial.

There's that word again!!) to make the assumption that you had a vested interest in supporting them. Yeah! So by your reckoning, because I am a savvy shopper and accept the occasional free plastic cup of coffee, I am supporting bear baiting? :rotfl::rotfl:

Foods like Fish4Dogs, even Wainwrights, Arden Grange etc are far superior in the ingredient stakes and cost the same or much less. Most RC isn't even hypoallergenic. It's horribly similar to Hills in the way vets push it and the only RC I think is worth it's weight is the actual prescription stuff ie. hydrolysed meats. But still they are overpriced for what they are which is why insurance companies usually don't cover prescription foods for more than a month or so's supply if that
For me they sell a food for indoor cats that means our 20 year old cat doesn't make the whole house smell......and I've tried enough. It is expensive but I would rather pay more money for something that actually works for her and us.

They have an exceptionally excellent range of cat food and my 23yr & 24yr old healthy cats are testimony to it. I can't comment on dog food as it's several years since I owned a dog and I didn't feed them on any of the RC diets.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Naturally i'm totally against bear baiting but I really don't get why this is STILL a huge deal, Royal Canin have explained that they didn't knowingly sponsor this...
P.S I don't and never have used Royal Canin... for no reason other than my pets are happy with what they get just now ( raw, pro plan and harringtons) I feed what works with my pets.0 -

If it works I'm not against it, but as a food on paper with the price I wouldn't use it unless, as you say, nothing else worked. I would never deny my pets something that suited them, but my dogs get on better with a higher quality diet than the dog foods RC produce and hence I would rather feed that. Being MSE, it's cheaper for me to feed higher quality, too.0 -

Ah ha, so finally the truth comes out, I wondered why you were sticking up for them so much if you didn't have a vested interest, which you do being in their "club"
BTW I'm not so dim-witted that I didn't have you sussedI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

But perhaps still dim-witted enough to take everything the Daily Fail prints as gospel?? Do you yet have a direct quote from RC to indicate they were aware of the bear-baiting BEFORE sponsoring the event? As already stated I have no affiliation to RC whatsoever, I just have an intense aversion to people making assumptions and stating them as fact based on the absolute rubbish printed in that rag.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

I would love to know what the readers of this thread feed their dogs/cats on? I think many will be surprised to learn who makes their brand.
I used RC for TJ, we didnt really have a choice as it was a specialised food. And to be honest I didnt care one hoot who made it. My boy needed it,so my boy got it.
I guess if we checked up and every single item we bought then our cupboards would be bare and we would starve. xRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxxHe is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.0
