Morning all,
just a quick one from me for now! Tru, your new chopping board sounds lovely - wish I had a kitchen a board like that would be at home in (one day I will...hopefully!)
Ttftm - hope you find your cream and kick that nasty coldsore
Spag bol for tea tonight - the team nutritionist has told bf to listen to me more and eat the same spag bol as me with extra veggies etc added in - result! Just need to pick up some garlic bread and mushrooms for that.
I'm alone in my office this week and next as the colleague I share with has gone on her annual leavenot too bad though as I go myself a week on Wednesday! Just have to find plenty of little jobs to entertain myself with.
Got up at 7am yesterday (we can not sleep in - no matter how hard we try) and spent from 7.30-10.30 starting a massive clear out on the house. Bf tried to fit new light switches but the ones he got from ebay didn't work so he emptied the fish tank (they I got the lovely job of clearing all the algae filled sand out (after I'd already showered) so that's now ready for him and his mum to take to the skip today. We cleared out one of the cupboards in the hall and theres a load for the skip from that. an old glass desk he's dismantled to go. A big gray bean bag, a holdall of clothes (some his, some mine) and loads of other bits and bobs - the hall in rammed with stuff to go and the fishtank is awaiting its fate in the kitchen too! The house should feel a little bigger once it's all done.
I finally have a proper home for my sewing machine, fabric and sewing stuff in the living room - tucked away! And bf is picking up a dvd/book shelf set today to put up in the living room. He's also getting some plastic storage boxes for bedding/bits to be stored in in the cupboard!
I like clear outs but bf wants everything done at warp speed whilst I like to just potter through all the jobs on my list so he gets frustrated at that.
I also realised to say we live together less than 1/4 of the stuff in the house is mine. Not that I need more stuff, I just feel less like it's 'our' house and more like it's still 'his' and I'm not necessarily a permanent feature - silly I know but that's how it feels sometimes when so little of the stuff is 'ours' (again less than 1/4 of the stuff in there has been bought since I moved in/we got together).
Off to try and cheer myself up!
Hope you all have nice days************************************

Good morning all,
thank you for all your kind words about my Grandson. He certainly is a gorgeous little boy but then again, i'm biased.:D
They have decided to call him Lucas Matthew. Matthew is his Daddys Christian name and Lucas is a name both she and I discovered together months ago. They were struggling for names and I suggested Lucas. She commented she had seen the name in a baby book and quite liked it so it went on her list.
Ive warned her about her milk 'coming in'. She is bottle feeding but I remember how painful it was when my milk came in. I don't want it to be a surprise. Ive talked to her about the 'baby blues' too which may or may not hit her. I must admit I found all these things a shock to me as a new Mum.
News from the baby house. One of the little girls is leaving them today. The childs Grandmother has been going through legal paperwork and preparing to adopt the little girl. Its took ages though but at least its complete now and little Zakaya can now look forward to a future with a 'Mother' who will treat her the way she deserves to be treated. Thank goodness for Grandmothers eh?
Right, I think ive taken up a rather large part of todays thread. I have more news for you but i'll maybe tell you later.
Hester, in my excitement I have forgotten to send you my love and I hope your feeling better very soon. I'm thinking of you.
NAR I haven't forgotten your insult but i'm in too much of a good mood to bite back. Your saved from further abuse (for now).
Have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning all,
Hope your all ok, Judi what a beautiful little boy:D
Has anyone heard from Halight haven't seen him posting for a couple of days, hope he is ok.
I've been busy this morning, already parcelled up 7 parcels and listed 7 more items on eBay.
Dh was up and out early but he's working round the corner this afternoon so I may be able to pinch the car to pop to the post office later.
Do you remember my youngest doing his work experience at a big hotel in Manchester, well he did so well he has been asked to work for them for two weeks in August and he has an interview for a Weekend concierge Job on Tuesday morning. I'm so proud of him. The lady said he was so personable that they really didn't want him to leave and the customers loved him, think he has the gift of the gab like his mum, fingers crossed for Tuesday, it would be perfect for some extra money while he carries on with his a levels.
Chilli and rice for tea as we didn't have it yesterday, suppose I should get out of my pjs but that would mean putting a bra on:eek:
Have a good day xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning everyone :j
It's another beautiful day here at the moment although I am sure it will rain later on. I don't fancy doing the washing hokey cokey so I will be tumbling it.
Evil kittens have surpassed themselves this morning with both of them sneaking upstairs, hiding underneath the bed and the one of the litle 'darlings' having a poo right behind the door so when I opened it, guess what  . Anyway, carpet is scrubbed and deodorized but I would cheerfully give the little beggars away today!!!
Anyway, back to OS, dinner tonight will be chicken curry when I fish out the chicken breasts from the chest freezer. I might just dangle my grand daughter by her feet over the freezer and whatever she manages to grab I will cook:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Knowing her it will be chicken nuggets and ice cream so maybe not such a good idea.
I posted last night but just wanted to say again, Thank You for all your warm wishes. I had a long talk with my hubby about how I am (not) coping and I feel so much better today. Not so alone anyway.
Take care and gentle hugs to all who would like one.
Cheers m'dears x0 -

Hi all,
I,m still in my PJ,s too
Have made corgette and ginger jam, 1kg of the stuff, so i,m hoping it sets - tastes okay so far. Also baked brownies, chucked some mini marshmallows in which has expanded like a monster, hoping its not made it too runny or instead of lovely treats in the freezer, it will have to be crumbled into a trifle type thingy - hey ho its got chocolate and sugar in it - what can go wrong
Have managed to be quiet controlled financially in July, and thats just about to go **ts up as my bloomin flippin dyson has gone phutt:mad: - I used to swear by dyson now I just swear at them - total carp..... Now the question is do I invest in a 'best buys' meile at nearly £200  using the money i,ve saved towards xmas, and hope it lasts years or do I buy cheap?????
Off to try and NOT blow up the iron......
Hugs to all xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Nice day so got bedding washed and on line outside.
Lunch was Sunday's leftovers, lamb, potatoes, HM mint sauce, HG courgettes, green beans and carrots before DH goes off to pick up a new (to us) lawnmower.
Hoping to get on bus to local T's for new pillows and a mooch at dvds and books etc . perhaps even a treat or two. Middle dd is staying overnight near London for meeting tomorrow and youngest has been keeping a friend company who is housesitting while relative is on holiday.
Planning to make small bacon and egg flans with salad or new HG potatoes tonight and maybe an apple pie unless things get hectic later.
Rain is forecast later so hope we don't get drenched!!
Hugs to all and good vibes to everyone poorly, recovering or generally overwhelmed at the moment."This site is addictive!"

The dentist is tomorrow. I was pleased - great, no dentist today. And annoyed - oh no, I have to go tomorrow and now have another 24 hours to stress myself out about it
Sorry dumpling, I've missed what's going on with you, but hope you're OK
I came across THIS site a few weeks ago (thanks Jackie Glasgow!), some of the ideas are a bit naff but some are great. I've just used fabric conditioner to clean and polish my table, I had my doubts but it worked really wellBulletproof0 -
Hi all
First and foremost, major GWS wishes and healing vibes for Hester; good to see you back online, mate.:o
Islandmaid thanks for asking yesterday, the Pooch Palace is ready for the two little princesses who will be arriving on August 19th:o Luckily Sassy didn't really shed, so not a lot to vacuum up, but I did get Mr LW to move the sofa so that I could get the Cassie and Bailey hair that was trapped underneath.;)
I did read the thread yesterday but gave up on the idea of posting, as I had a corking migraine.:( Thankfully, it's gone now, thanks to Mr LW's ministrations; I'm just a tad washed out.:o
DG I loved reading about Skye asking so politely for her biscuit.:Dlushlifesaver wrote: »I also realised to say we live together less than 1/4 of the stuff in the house is mine. Washing has been outside, and hoiked in hurriedly when the rain started; it can stay in the bathroom now, I don't have sufficient spoons for the Washing Hokey Cokey!:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
