This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

• Good morning everyone :)

Flying visit while getting ready for work as per usual.

Bit tired this morning as didn't get to bed until 10pm, which is late for me, and didn't sleep very well. I couldn't decide if it was too warm or slightly cool and kept waking up and throwing off or replacing bedding!

Judi - your new grandson is absolutely beautiful, you must be so proud

Cold omelettes for lunch today and something with pork mince for dinner, together with a salad. DH sent me a new burger recipe with pork mince so may have a go at those.

Have a horrible big cold sore starting on my lip so better go and find the stash of acyclovir cream :(

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs them or just wants them. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

Good Morning chums and it looks like a sunny one here in north Kent. Not too sure what I'll be doing with the boys today but I think I may take them down to the local country park this afternoon and let them run off some steam. Its very nice down there and there is a large play park with lots of climbing bits for boys to clamber over and trees to climb.I'll have a look and see how the blackberries are coming along as well.
No shopping to get as I have dug out a nice veggie curry for dinner tonight from the freezer and I'll be out all day at dds
have a good one chums and don't forget the sun cream
Cheers JackieO xxx
P.S. Just seen the picture of the new little sweetie Judi he's gorgeous ,spoil him to bits with lots of cuddles

I have to ring the dentist. I rang them a few weeks ago to change my appointment, for some reason I wrote down monday 30th july :rotfl:

Master tru fitted a kitchen the other day, the customer had solid oak worktops. He kept the cut-out from the sink (with customers permission), used his router on the edges to shape it a bit and gave it to me to use as a chopping board :T It's 19.5” x 15.5” and 1.5” thick, I've oiled it and it looks fab :D

If I'm at the dentist, I'll be doing nothing for the rest of the day. The anaesthetic wearing off leaves me with a headache that nothing will shift. If I'm home, I'll whizz through the house with the hoover and a duster, do a couple of loads of washing then potter about in the garden. If it rains I'll ignore the garden and sit down with my crochet.

Morning everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Light cloud and overcast with a bit of a breeze here this morning.

DH up and off to work stupid early.

Had a late lunch yesterday of roast chicken pieces, roast potatoes, carrots, broccolli, HG green beans, yorkshires, and gravy, dessert was cookies/ginger bread men left from Saturday's day out. Dinner tonight will be gammon, egg, onion sauce, mash, peas and mushrroms. Last night picked some more green beans - we've had about 4 x 4 person meals from them so far. The cherry tomatoes are ripening nicely - they should be ready to pick within the next day or so - lots of other tomatoes on the vines, but nothing ripening yet - may have to dig out the green tomato chutney recipe!

Went to the caravan yesterday and took some more bits back - need to pack the caravan as much as possible, but I will do that the end of the week/next weekend - will also get ready for hols. The caravan needs to be completely ready for when we go as our turn around time is less than 24 hours - so hoping I can get some of the washing done and dried before we come home - so all I need to do is ironing and re-packing - that's the theory anyway!!

Back to work today - it will probably be another manic Monday - we'll see. Starting to really feel in need of a proper holiday/break - so my hols starting the end of next week can't come soon enough!

Keep safe and well x

Morning all,

Another lovely day here, with a good breeze, good drying day :D

Had a terrible nights sleep was still awake at 3 and then tossed and turned for the rest of the night. Need to drop poor dd at work, she has had a terrible cough for about 3 weeks now and has now devaeloped a horrible pain in her side, maybe a pulled muscle ? anyway she is insisting on going to work, but I will phone and try and get her an appointment at the Dr.

Not sure about dinner tonight, will go and check my list. Will have a good clear round today and continue my job search, and apply for anything suitable.

Judi, he is lovely x

Have good days all xx

Good morning!

Great pic of the new arrival Judi

Our homegrown dwarf green beans we had with our dinner yesterday were lovely. HG is so fresh, it always tastes better

We didn't have as many peas as we thought, so I had to add some frozen ones too.

There's a bit of a crisis on the rocket front - we picked some and it had green creepy crawlies all over it. So we've sprayed the plants in a bid to eliminate the bugs. I hope it works, as I love rocket.

I'm going to get a batch of chilli con carne out of the freezer for dinner.

A bit later I'll wander down the post office with the eBay parcels. Only 8 today, so it's back at manageable levels.

Then I'll crack on with the housework. It was a lovely day yesterday, there was quite a breeze, so with the windows open the house feels very airy.

Enjoy your day

• Good morning all,
Cloudy here today. i think it is supposed to brighten up.
Judi, your grandson is beautiful :D.
Tru, hope you get on ok at the dentist.
Ttftm, hope you find your cream and manage to get rid of your cold sore.
redruby, your dd does need to get checked over by a Dr really. Hope you manage to get her an appointment and that she is ok.
Having my hair cut, coloured and a few highlights put in this morning. All it cost me is the colour, which i have already got. DIL does the rest. Saves alot of money for the three of us over the course of a year.
Hubby is in bed as he is at work tonight. Did housework last night. Not alot else to do today. Will take the dog out for a walk later on this afternoon.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning all!
The sun is trying to shine, but ominous clouds don't look to promising. Have a pile of washing, but the water pressure is awful, not sure if there's a leak somewhere or they are working on pipes locally, so scared to put the machine on in case water goes off or turns brown!
Need to get DS up and go to MILs, she bought a new fridge freezer yesterday but a bit of DIY might be needed on an end shelf unit in her kitchen to make sure it fits!
Have a good day all!
