Java not working - why oh why?

    Are you sure it's Java and not Javascript that is the issue? I'd be quite surprised if any banking application requires the end user to have Java installed. Javascript is something different, and it can be turned on and off from within whatever browser you are using - for instance, I'm using Firefox, and the Enable Javascript tick box is in the Content tab under Options.

    As above - are you sure it's Java and not Javascript that is the issue? They are two different things despite the similar name. I am aware some banks do require Java to be installed to bank online though.

    When I got the problem about verifying my Java version I thought that my Java had some sort of issue. How do I check that Javascript is working in IE9?

    I haven't a clue, sorry! I tried looking under the content tab but I am sure I am in the wrong place or doing something wrong, again!! :o

    Are you running Adblocker or another pop-up 'blocking' plugin that may be preventing the permissions dialog?
