Rank meat at Aldi!!

Ugh I bought a pack of chicken thighs from Aldi last week, just got them out the fridge to use up (best by date is 29th Jul) and omg, they were rank!

I thought something smelled funny in the fridge but thought it was some carrots I bought from Aldi too as fruit/veg tends to go off quite quick. The meat was yellowy-green underneath, foul smell that is now in my house and obviously inedible! I'm without a dinner tonight now!

What do I do with it?? I don't have receipt still cos assumed all was well with my shop, I don't want to keep the meat in my fridge cos it makes me feel sick and there's nowhere else to put it! Can I take a picture on my digi camera, bin meat then keep packet (washed out)?

I'm doubting the chops I bought then too- they're use by 30th Jul but now very unsure whether to use! I'm not had issues before and its put me right off shopping cheap at Aldi!!
Up and onwards to the future!

Do you need to ask? Take it back tomorrow, they'll offer a refund or replacement.

Tbh it's a sad state of affairs when people need advice because a bit chicken goes off.

Just bin it and tell Aldi the next time your in, they will either refund yopu or not, bottom line is, it's just one of those things.

Check the fridge and reset the temp to 4C.

Have you ever heard of the sniff test, if not ask your Granny.

It's probably got a hole in the packaging at some point.

Take it back and get a refund...

I do sometimes have meat from all sorts of places that goes off early. Annoying, and if it's really early, then I might take it back. Other than that, I chalk it up to experience and bad luck.

Oh, and in response to the title:
    1) Chicken
    2) Beef
    3) Pork
    4) Lamb
    5) That weird sausage thing
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
    Now 20% cooler

I dont think its anything to do with Aldi meat, I once had a Morrisons chicken did the same, got my money back with only producing the wrapper. How long were the items out of the cold ie how long from Aldi to home fridge, its been really hot lately and if meat not stored or carried home quickly it goes off very quickly.

How strange, someone posting for advice on a consumer rights board.

However, this seems such a straightforward case of 'take it back for a refund', that it doesn't really seem worth asking.
And for the OP to then doubt (with no reason) the pork they have as well, makes it seem like a trolling thread.
