Can't people just read the end date in the title? If it's over, it's over. What's it matter whether it sits on the main board until a BG moves it?

There are thousands of comps on there, generally approx 300 pages (20 to a page). If we don't move the finished ones within a week there will be another 100 pages at least! Having to trawl through that lot to find the live ones is just a ridiculous scenario, it's common sense to move them - just good housekeeping :)

But you can use the boards in different ways. By 'newest thread' or 'newest post'. If you're using the board in an efficient way you shouldn;t come into contact with old comps. I know I don't.

When I was doing by posting date and very behind trying to catch up, it was annoying there were so many that were out of date, pages and pages of them.

(Also, off topic and probably needs it's own thread on the comp chat board actually, there are regular comps I come across that end earlier than the end dates so are already out of date before the stated date ie Land Love? and ITV just two off the top of my head, that probably need an end date a day before the comp end date as I keep missing them! A lot of Twitter comps have far too long a guessed end date too imo.)

I don't think anyone at MSE Towers will like us using up so much server space

In a few days there are 1,000 or more dead comps

Surely they still take up server space though when they have been expired, just in Game Over rather than the main board.

My vote is for Facebook and Twitter comps to stay on the main board. I do Facebook but not Twitter and don't find it too much of a deal to skip the ones I don't want to do.

Nope They disappear into a big black hole  Someone from above deletes them :T

Anyway back to the reason why we need another BG or two is so that the two very hard working ones we do have have some help so things like clicking 200 expired competitions at one time is far better than the few people who have given lots of time to do it one....by one....by one & slog away at it several times a week can stop doing this as there will be no slack needed to be picked up from what the two BG's have to do now.

Everyone panics when it's mentioned about putting the Twitter comps & the FB comps in a sub section of their own.

When you look at the main competitions board you see at the top a sub section that says I won I won, regular comps, compers chat corner & so on

Why is everyone so scared of there being two new sub sections one saying FB comps the other saying Twitter comps?

It is plain for everyone to see, all you need to do is click on FB comps & enter them

    What's so hard about that?

Why would anyone need to do any clicking at all when there are 400 a day?

Require completion date at start or end of topic. Have a computer job that goes through and automatically moves as soon as the date is over, then another that deletes a week later. It's a complete waste of human time to do this when computers can do it automatically.

This is crying out for a technical solution, not a human one.

Agreed, however I think the comps board is low priority (And rightly so) The money saving and helping people with debts side of things has to take priority.
