Hi everyone and Hugss to all the 'poorlies and down' folk
super storm last night which cooled things a little but not much My grass actually looks a bit greener as well.I have five new shrubs in so its saved me from watering them this morning.
Dd just email me from Zante and she said they are forecast 40c this coming week. She is hiding now under her parasol :):)and says she only gets out to jump into the pool which is itself fairly warm.Just pottering around again today a bit too hot to do much.I'll be off to youngest DDs later for dinner so no cooking for me today.
I have rearranged my freezer and have so much stuff in there I shan't be buying much over the next couple of weeks at all.
Saving every bit we can now towards the holiday in August. the boys are getting excited as well and are looking out their buckets and spades already
Right time for some coffee I think
    Cheers everyone

    Afternoon All,

So nice to Hester back, hope your recovery is as swift as the onset of your illness.
Also hugs to the rest of our poorly pals.

Judi is obviously recovering from her exertions of becoming a Granny yesterday! :D

We have a lovely day here again, but flash floods are happening in locations only a few miles away, really strange.

Not doing a lot today. Was expecting my niece and her 3 [STRIKE]monsters[/STRIKE] lovely children, but unfortunately one of them has come down with chickenpox! (Phew :D )

Have a lovely day everyone!

Hester - I had my gall bladder out over 25 years ago. It's all different these days as it's usually done by keyhole surgery which is a lot less invasive and a much quicker recovery time. Basically cutting fats from your diet is the best way to avoid any more attacks as others have mentioned.

It was supposed to rain heavily here today but it's actually been a rather pleasant day. Managed to get a load of bedding dry on the line so I am happy with that!

    Morning all,

as promised, I will fill you in with the details of the birth of my Grandson.

My daughter went into labour at 3am Friday morning but she sent the Fiance to work telling him she'd had a few niggles and she'd call him if she needed him.

Midday Friday she messaged me. 'Mom what are contractions like?' After talking her through as much as I could remember she sent me a screen picture of an phone app I sent her a few weeks ago called Contraction Timer. She thought she might been in labour and had used the app to monitor her contractions which were coming every 5 minutes and lasting a minute each time. I told her she needed to get the Fiance back from work as it was clear that she was in labour but she made it clear she would get him back when she had to and not before. I offered to sit with her myself but she said no she wanted no fuss. We messaged for 3-4 hours through the contractions and when she couldn't stand the pain any longer... then she phoned the hospital who told her to come in. So the Fiance finished work and drove her to hospital where they decided to admit her as she was 4cms dilated....She was given an epidural which was topped up at regular intervals and she was pain free for the rest of her delivery. The Fiance kept me informed every step of the way when she was unable to.

He was born at 1am Saturday morning and she spent the next few hours throwing up (the drugs apparently).

We went to see him yesterday after she got home. She didn't want us to come to the hospital but she wanted us to come to see them at home.

He is 6lb 4oz. Tinier than the babies ive delivered and he looks like a little doll. He is very laid back too. She is having to wake him for his feeds because all he wants to do is sleep. She cant believe how good he is.

So... last night at bed time hubby got in bed and shot out again as quick as he got in. One of the dogs had weed on his side of the bed whilst we were out. Luckily it hadn't gone through to the mattress but I have had to launder all the bedding. So, at 11pm we were digging out the sleeping bags from under the bed.

Then this morning I got left a pile on the kitchen floor by the other dog. As you can imagine, i'm not impressed.

Housework... i'm up to my ears in it and all I can think about is my baby Grandson (as yet unnamed).

I'll sort out a picture for you a bit later.:)

    Hi me again!

Just popping on to say THANK YOU for all your warm wishes. It has really helped. Church was manageable and there is a baptism service this evening which I am aiming to get to. Molly thank you for looking out for me, I am hyper aware of a relapse occurring so will be seeing my GP this week with a view to having a CPN for a while, but thank you for all your concern.
    Take care x

P.S Hester I had my gall bladder out 20 years ago but I remember the pain of an attack was horrific, so you have my deepest sympathies. A fat free diet was the only thing that helped slightly but by the end I was having attacks even if I had only eaten salad. I got morphine from the GP and some anti nausea medicine but I too lost a terrific amount of weight very quickly....the only good thing about it!

Hester my OH had her very inflamed gallbladder out in March, recuperation about two months, and now feels great. She lost three stone and it cost me a new wardrobe of clothes, but she looks even more fab now.
