Congratulations to Judi on the new arrival and best regard to dumpling and hester

Our rain arrived yesterday evening and if is much fresher here today. I'm not sure what the weather will do today, half the sky is blue and other half is grey.

We'll be having the first of our homegrown peas and beans with lunch today, so looking forward to that.

Not much going on today - not doing too much eBaying, just a few realists.

Thanks to those of you who wished me well for my redundancy, you are a lovely lot

Been raining most of the night but eased off now, its a bit cooler which is nice.

Waiting to hear from dd who has been at a festival all weekend, and is due back today I dont think she has taken a key, so will have to leave one for her if we go out.

Not sure about dinner today, will go and check my list.

Well, I don't think my face is any worse today, eye is sticky and annoying but have had a warm cloth on it for ages and it doesn't feel just as tender this morning, time will tell! No change to the rash on my chest so will keep an eye on it.
Plans for today include avoiding the rain!

Hello everyone.
Big day for me today - i'm doing my first ever roast chicken! I looked on some old threads here for advice, and I have just put the chicken in the oven... I rubbed garlic butter under the skin, and i squeezed a lemon over it and put the squeezed bits in the cavity, and I even put it upside down in the roasting tin! Fingers crossed! Its only to pull apart and have with pasta and salad for my work lunches, but i still hope it's nice!!
I fancy making a cake, or fairy cakes today but I cant decide if I can be bothered!
It's still raining heavy here, it stopped just in time for me to go to Asda, and started again when I got back in the house!
When my BF gets up we need to measure the bathroom and the kitchen and go to CarpetRight to get a quote for our landlord for new vinyl flooring, then we are off to BF's mum's house for sunday dinner this evening.

We had a big thunderstorm last night with lots of rain, so much so it filled the water barrels which were empty :eek: I have been out to check my plants to make sure that they were not damaged and luckily they seem ok.
I still have a few broad beans left, but they are not quite ready. and I have lots of flowers on the runner beans and french beans.

It looks very grey out there at the moment so I think that we are in for some more rain today.

Get well (((((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))) to Hester, Jools, bethebeee, hilly, Molly, LW, helen jelly's hubby, dumpling and all other feeling poorly or down.

We went to the Water Mill in Barton yesterday and had a lovely time, we are going to take a picnic next time and spend a little longer there.

Nothing much doing today apart from catching up with some washing (fingers crossed it stays rain free until it has all dried on the line). I might reorganise the pantry as well it is getting a little out of order

H ester, sorry you feeling so ill. When I had gallstone problems I found that cutting out as much fat as possible helped greatly.

hester I had to cut down dramatically on anything fatty and that really helped.

It rained heavy here last night, some of the plants look a bit battered. It's dry now but overcast, I'm going to harvest the rest of our peas today.
I also fancy baking, I might make a ginger cake and some twinks hobnobs. I'm also thinking of chilli for tea tonight and shall make enough for two meals, so half will go in the freezer.
All my washing is up to date. So just a tidy round. I need to do some parcelling and listing on eBay but I really think I will have a rest today and do it tomorrow.
My leg is quite sore just now so trying to rest when I can.
Just to say my son is feeling better and has made a good start on his road to recovery, thanks again for all your kind wishes.
