*peeps head around the door to see if I'm allowed back in*
Sorry I've been awol for a few weeks as I've had a stinker of a cold which made my head ache and my ears go funny. I went out for an easy run tonight and was pleasantly surprised at how far I could still go. (I'm a rubbish begginer, if you remember).
I looked like a bit of a fraud though cos I'd bought some of the running gear from Aldi so I looked like a pro but ran like an old lady :rotfl:
Here's the Aldi stuff if you are interested:

Off to read up on what I've missed.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -
oooo i want that backpack...even has a hydration pocket - v cool0
-
Thanks for the update Rich - we need to agree a location for a meet and I'll get onto some cool bars for afterwards!
Becky0 -
Yes we do Becky but I think it will be virtually impossible to agree one location for everyone as the distances are so far for some people. I have been looking into some races and think we should aim to have a variety of races available. for example 2 x 5k in a year 4 x 10k in a year and a couple of half marathons. These will be based all around the country so that everyone has the opportunity to get to at least one meet.I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
Finally Debt Free...0 -
Thats cool - you do the fixtures and I'll do the bars!
I'm up for that one in Leeds in June though!0 -
On the subject (just) of running, athleticism and that - did anyone see the new series of last man standing tonight? OUCH.0

Went to running club then on for a meal afterwards so couldn't check in.
Did speed work, slow jogs then running at 100% then slow then fast. It nearly killed me...but felt good afterwards..
Legs have stopped twitching but my feet felt like they were on fire a bit later on in the night, had to take my shoes off in the restaraunt...Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

That sounds like hard work sammy! Well done you for surviving!!!
My plan is to go for a run with Pania this evening - she lives about three doors from the sports centre where my children will be at karate, so we can get a swift (!) couple of miles in while they are training. Will report back later.
Happy running, guys!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Morning all,
Sorry molly I meant to reply last night and got sidetrack (as you do)...of course you're welcome back...a few of us have had nasty colds recently...dont rush your comeback is all I'd say - take it nice and slow and try to ease back into a routine...also you dont seem to be on the club list, chat to Rich if you want to be a part.
Ouch Sammy that sound evil - rather you than me!
Hope you get your run in this evening hypno! You and Pania are doing FLM as well so it will be good to train together and keep each other motivated.
Sorry Idio I dont really watch TV - I was out last night having dinner at the BFI cinema...very good it was too!
No disasters for me todayso yesterday was obivously a blip, did my 4.25 in 45 mins which is great for an easy run after a day when I couldnt do the distance! Although i did manage to bang my elbow on a concrete wall going round a corner - note to self - tuck in elbows more! There will be a nice bruise there later
