Its like watching a replay with you and Sally - neither of you can accept that its OK just to sit down and rest.

Behave and be a slob for a few days! :p

I know I should be taking it steady but I am just going crazy, wanting to get out there and run! Grrrrrr to these legs! :rotfl:

    HWGA xx

    Hi HWGA,

As it is being done on a very limited amount of training it is just a case of managing the pace on the day and make sure you get plenty rest in the days before.

Whatever pace you feel is OK for 6.5 miles you need to ease back from to increase your chances of getting the full 10 miles.

    Challenging but doable.

Donner! you look fabulous, not a bit red and sewaty? how come!!!!??

    lovely smile btw!

I had the best day ever, nothing could have come close to seeing my dad waiting for me at the finish line...DD who was there with him was only interested in the contents of my goody bag!

I like the last couple of picks in where ther light was shining a bit more, but not the ones where my legs look stuck together or the ones with my big gob open wide...I think I was shouting to my dad at the end!

    Awwwww shucks! :o

  • I've just found my first race I want to enter: a 5k fun run in full Santa outfit :rotfl: I've got until December to achieve that, lol. Should be fun in a nice scratchy polyester suit.

You're not eligible though unless you can slide down a chimney several thousand times in one evening! :p

If I got new trainers where would be the best place to get them? There's a triathalon shop locally, otherwise it's a 100 mile round trip to Swansea.

Well, if you were gonna go to Swansea anyway - there's a shop just by Cardiff Station called Run and Become, Become and Run or something like that...really liked it in there, quite reasonable prices and they're very knowledgable and will watch you run and advise on the best shoes for you.

A couple of my "runner" friends saw my bag from there and were all "oh wow, did you go there?" so it must be good :D
  • Ha ha! Dam link has changed! Chippenham Half Marathon, then on the next page you click on it again then it says either enter Family name or Competitor's bib number whereas mine was 146!

That's not what my DD said...little madam! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: No well done from her, just a 'you smell' after I cross the finish line...charming! And my dad then made a comment about my milkshake I had him bring down for me after the race...said it looked like I was drinking breast milk...really put me off! What a pair...grrrr! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I wish I did just 'perspire'! Ha ha! Good ol' wicking tops! :T
