    I don't see what right Wonga has to tell her they'll only withdraw the debt if she reports it to the police.

    If she can prove she didn't take out the loan, that must surely be enough.

    If Wonga cannot prove that she did, that too should be enough for them not to be able to uphold the alleged debt in court.

    This highlights the fact that with Credit Reference Agency data, the onus is on the person against whom the debt is recorded to prove to some degree that the debt is not theirs.
    You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

    Since Wonga know the account details of the payee then surely they could see that it was the brother that had done this and not the mother?
