Selling your Stuff on Amazon Part 10 - Discussion Thread

There's a message in Amazon announcements about changes coming up to z shops - I know these have been expected for a while. The main points seems to be as follows:
Since launching Amazon Marketplace, we’ve learned that customers prefer to shop for items via the product detail page. Accordingly, we ask that merchants with zShops listings migrate to sell in Amazon Marketplace. Sellers should continue selling using Amazon Marketplace listings to list their items on the most valuable real estate for selling on the web: Amazon product detail pages.
What does this mean to you?
For your continued selling success, we encourage you to keep selling on Amazon and transition zShops listings to Marketplace. In October 2007, we will be replacing all current zShops Storefronts with a new Storefront exclusively featuring your Marketplace listings. After your new Storefront becomes available, customers will no longer be able to find your zShops listings and your Marketplace listings will appear in your new Storefront. Your zShops listings will still be visible from your Seller Account page for at least another month after which they will be removed.0 -

What do you mean 'disappeared'? are they in your closed area? Or no where? Are you now a pro-seller? If so, let me know your shop name and I'll see if I can see your books.

They have disappeared totally and no longer appear in my closed listings. I am no longer a pro seller hence the 1800 email in one day nightmare.
I have open listings and on saturday I still had approx 1300 closed but today they have gone. I have emailed amazon and will phone them tomorrow, am I doomed or is this a glitch? Do your closed listings only stay around for a certain while before they are totally taken off?
Thanks0 -
Closed listings do disappear after a while, but I thought it was at least 30 days..I'm sure someone will be along later who knows the correct time frame.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Oh dear Annie
Closed listings only stay listed for 1 month after closing. My guess is that yours may have now expired from the Amazon site.
Do 'closed emails' contain a link? and if so, does that link still work even though your closed items are not visible in the 'closed listings' area?
If not, it is still worth asking the Amazon CS Rep if there is anything they can do.

I have a feeling this changed recently and now you have to re-list from closed listings rather than the link in an email which worked previously but not 100% sure.
Sorry Annie - hope CS can help [don't look at tomorrows date though]0 -
I just had to select my bank card (from the listed payment options amazon already have for me) so they could validate me for payments... does that mean I've reached some selling milestone or is it just a new thing? My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Hi Annie, just wanted to say that I really hope that customer services can help you retrieve them - I can't imagine how terrible you'll feel if you've got to start all over again and you'd been doing really well too.
Looking back I think that I should have reminded you that they get deleted after a while but I've not been on here a great deal recently due to other work commitments so I send heartfelt apologies.0 -

Hi apprentice - it's no ones fault but my own for not reading the small print. I have been in touch with Amazon and it does appear that I am doomed. They say it is unlikely that they can reinstate my lost 1300 books, however the nice french guy I spoke to is sending the tech dept an email and will plead my case. Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!
So a word of warning to everyone- don't be lazy and get those listing ending e-mails seen to asap, I don't wish my mammoth task on anyone!

Hi Annie
Good luck with Amazon reinstating your books - fingers crossed.
Another thought, when you were a pro-seller, did you ever download your listings? If so, you might be able to reuse that file by deleting the sold items? Admittedly you would have to go pro again to do so.
