  • SunRay,

Believe me if any MSE'er thought for one moment MSE were flogging their personal details, or any details, they would say so - say it loud with chest beating and drum thumping in your support - this they would do without any compunction whatsoever my friend.

Post your problem here, you may want to check what if anything has hijacked you, and is referring your details. If your machine is clean you have nothing to worry about and nothing to lose but a minute or three.

Richie-from-the-Boro, I can understand that, and how unlikely it does seem that they would pass on details.
Which is why I did trust them with my personal and private details in the first place.
But, again to me, this seems more than coincidence. Something has happened here.

I am actually a computer engineer, with some involvement in internet security.
99% confident that nothing untoward has occurred, originating from my systems.
    Do appreciate you helping though.

I don't remember signing yet I get the email I have tried to "leave the energy club " button but I keep getting
    "Ooops,
    sorry something's gone wrong.
Try clicking back, otherwise here's some help getting back on track"

Can anyone help here to what to do?
The site is under Money Saving Expert Beta and somewhere there is a photo of Martin.
I had to create a password because I had not signed for it though it reached my comping e- address. Help and many thanks.
Thanks to those who help us to win !

I joined the 'Cheap Energy Club' last month and switched to EDF at the end of October. I started receing a huge volume of nuisance calls a couple of days later. I am registered with the TPS and have never had this volume of calls. The interesting thing is that every call is related to insulation, new boilers, heating grants etc.
It does seem like a huge coincidence to me but I don't think MSE has anything to do with it. I seem to remember that my request to switch went via MoneySupermarket, do you think I might have inadvertantly forgotten to tick a box and they have subsequently handed out my details? I'm usually very careful with this sort of thing and don't give my number to anyone. I've gone from the odd sales call about double glazing to coming home to 10 or 15 missed calls per day and a few voicemails, always utilities related. I just wondered if anyone else had the same problems and came upon this thread.
