I first met Squeaky when I used to tease him terribly on OS and, despite him having to follow me around deleting most of what I had posted, we became firm friends in real life.
One of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life was spend a recent weekend clearing out Richard's larder of vinegar, bicarb, flour and very many other OS staples. Of course, everything has now been welcomed into the homes of other oldstylers and freeglers, which is just how Richard would have wanted it. Well I know he did, he left me a list of instructions
For those wondering, Sally, Richard's much loved cat, has a new home with me.
RIP dear friend. You are missed. My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Such sad news. I remember Squeaky fondly from when I first joined MSE. As others have said, he was always the benelovent force in the background making sure everything ran smoothly and that no riots broke out over knitted yoghurts OS would not be the haven it is today without him.
RIP dear man.We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
