I've just seen this. I used to post a fair bit on OS (before I ran out of things to contribute) and always found Squeaky to be pleasant and helpful. I'm truly shocked and saddened to hear of his passing as I wasn't aware he was ill. RIP Squeaky. You were a good one.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

I confess to not being a great contributor but I use the Old style indexes regularly and have learned so many things from using them.
So much so that I use many recipes found in there. I even use the bread recipe squeaky posted - its in my HM recipe book under the name of 'Squeaky Bread'.
RIP Squeaky and thanks for your contribution which has helped me no end x"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye" - Miss Piggy0 -
I'm shocked to read this, sometimes you think the people posting on here are immortal.
I've never really posted in this part of the forum but I've always used the tips and I found Squeaky such a useful and pleasant poster. The site will be less without him.But if ever I stray from the path I follow

Only the other day I was thinking I hadn't seen squeaky around, and hoping he was OK.
He was always willing to help: you had only to say you were having a problem with something, and he'd offer a 'fix'. And when I said I didn't want an avatar (because I 'do' words not pictures), he created my avatar for me! :T It will always remind me of him.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Requiescat in pace
I didn't know him, but he seems to have left a legacy and that is all you can really ask for, someone above mentioned that some posters seem immortal, maybe that is what immortality is; the ability to seem so."Don't blink. Really sad to hear about Squeaky. He will be sorely missed. R.I.P.0

So sorry to hear this sad news, like a lot of others, I wasn't aware of Squeaky's illness so this is quite a shock. We do just get used to people being around and 'available' don't we?
Can I just add my condolences and best wishes to friends and family, echoing the many kind thoughts and words written by other members of this fantastic community. RIP SqueakyThe beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.
