I find the best beds are old duvets and because they smell of their human the dogs tend to settle on them much quicker. If you're handy with a sewing machine you can always run up a "doggy" cover to put on them. Material is cheap to buy on ebay

Cot size duvet covers fit a folded single duvet perfectly and only a couple of quid in places like ikea or ebay.......

Robinsons (online) also seem to be a good price £15 for a 34" fluffy washable bed.

thanks for all your advice, didnt get the RSPCA one as her hair will cover it with a day, went to my local pet shop and got a mattress that has a waterproof side, kind of sleeping bag material, she is not happy as it is not as thick, so i will put some old towles or bedding underneath

My 2 dogs need a new bed. They like to snuggle up together so I always buy the largest one I can find for them. I usually change them every 3-4 months. But I came across a website for the Tuffies beds and was wondering if any of you had ever purchased one. They are more expensive than the ones I usually buy but they do say that all they need is a wash down with a hose pipe. Thanks PF

my doggie sleeps in a big plastic bed on an old single duvet with a sleeping bag on the bottom. I've got a few spare duvet covers I got from oxfam so change it often.

She likes me to tuck her in at night :laugh:

I've heard the Argos beds don't wash very well, apparently go flat when washed

:cool:A good dog bed is always appreciated. Am I Right? Really I have find great deals and saved on quality dog supplies and Dog Beds which I have found awesome washable beds including Donut beds and many more popular products for dogs called "dogbedsandmore". I think, that will definitely wake you right up!

Errata

My terriers slept in plastic baby baths with a pillow covered by an old curtain on the bottom. The pillows were cheapies from the market and I replaced them every three months, the curtains came from the charity shop - couple of quid a pair and they were also replaced every three months.
My sister's terrier slept in the ironing basket !

Another vote for Vetbed here - I bought 3 pieces about 17 years ago, and they are still going strong! They wash and dry very quickly, wick any fluid away from the dog and aren't so tempting to chew and destroy (lovely and snuggly too).

All dog beds have been rejected by our dogs -but the duvets worked a treat-buy cheap ones and change them. However the dogs were both Giant breeds and I don't think curling up was quite their bag.If you go to local cat shows (early) you can pick up double bed size fleeces that last forever . I think the sellers do dog and agricultural shows too. Not exactly designer-usually covered in wolves/paws etc but they have a multitude of uses (including keeping students warm in rented accomodation!)
