Yes, not questioning that they exist, just that BC don't currently offer one, which they don't :)
  • Are creation easier to get, ie lower credit score needed? I have poor credit history and managed to get the asda card.
Also, they do store cards, are these more difficult to obtain than a cc?

    Thanks

Are you allowed to have more than one card from the same cc issuer?

in many cases, yes. Barclays have been very acquisitive and so lots of people have finished up with multiple Barclaycards by default. i have see-sawed between 1 and 2 MBNA cards for years. when it suits, i move the limit from one to the other & close one of them. then, when it suits, i apply for a second one again.

what you cannot do is Balance Transfer between two cards from the same provider.

i wouldnt bother with store cards. if you want to improve your credit file, and feel you've done well to get the Asda card, just use that as much as you can & clear in full each month. & keep doing it. when things steadily improve, look for a better deal from a new credit card.

Hi,what APR rate did you get with the Asda card? It starts at approx 14% apr then a few rates after that? Just got mine and it as come with a 12 month o% balance transfer. I noticed when you apply for a Creation card it does mention to have a good credit history.

the thing to do is to always pay it off in full. by DD if you can. & therefore not need to worry about the APR. consistently spending & paying off is the route to improving your credit file.
  • I got 24% apr and a £950 limit. Great for me considering previous bad credit although I know not great in terms of rates out there. I'm happy for the moment and it will be paid off in full each month, just to rebuild credit. My only reason for wanting and hoping acceptance of their selfridges store card is that I shop there a lot and want the extra perks and discounts. Just wasn't sure if it was as easy to obtain

It's funny with store cards, I have a decent credit history, but a while back I applied for an Evans store card which is run by Santander.
Anyway, I was declined:eek: Anyway, 2 weeks ago I applied and got an instant approval..... The card can be used at Wallis,Topshop Bhs and a few more stores.

So funny with store cards and their apr isn't cheap, but I pay it off in one these days. Do you have to apply in person for the Selfridge's card? I understand Santander are not providing the backing for a lot of store cards, as it's changing to SAV finance.

Hope you get the store card:T
