Actually it wouldn't make any difference packed in his bergan. He could carry a 20" machete, it's down to lawful authority or reasonable excuse. As long as it's to and from camp.0 -

Just a further update, case has been dropped by the police. My jury solicitor had advised me to proceed with 'No comment' throughout the interview which I did to all questions asked.
I won't go into further detail why he had advised me to go down that route other than the fact that they couldn't gain much evidence from the cctv footage at scence of incident, it was really bad.
By me saying no comment, it meant they had to decide whether to still go ahead with the case, it would probably take up a lot of resources by getting forensic evidence, taking it too court etc, to prove that IF, I did have a knife at at the time, which would be very hard to do.
Regarding the case of the thugs who have smashed my window, that line of inquiry has been closed due to the poor footage of the camera. Whether they are on to them regarding an of the fraud they are committing on gumtree is another thing.
I am just sooo happy right now, after a few bad luck months!0 -
Any fool knows that the rule of carrying a knife is that you must be prepared to use it and know HOW to use it, because if you're useless then you've a high chance of it being used on YOU.0

Indeed, in Krav Maga (and probably some other self-defence systems) you practice a lot of moves for disarming a knife wielder, some would be rather painful for whoever was waving the knife around. I know of one move where the knife bearer could accidentally end up stabbing their own thigh, for instance.0
