Hello all
Hilstep, gentle hugs and posi-vibes for you!
Thundery here just now, have had pouring rain swiftly followed by steaming pavements this afternoon, fingers crossed the air clears a bit.
Mince and tatties for dinner as Mr M's had the butchers steak mince on offer, will have some for the freezer as DD is out for dinner.
Went to the undertakers with DS to get a form witnessed for him to get some compensation money paid now he's old enough, the undertaker was his BB officer for years, but I forgot to take a copy of his birth certificate to get him to certify it so will need to go back tomorrow, memory like a hen just now!
Right, am off to sort out dinner, the tatties wont scrub themselves!RIP Iain

Phone call just before lunch - appt tomorrow, but it's at the clinic 40 miles away! Still worth it to be seen before the oncologist takes his holiday!
Hilstep, Hmmm, we seem to be operating in parallel once more ( as we did when both our dear Mums were in their final stages). It's a bit of a downer, this health lark isn't it? We'd better share a ((HUG))!Resolution:

Hi Everyone
Ginto asked for the recipe for our smoked sausage pasta dish we eat in our house so here it is - it's been adapted from another recipe so is quite easy to alter to suit your own tastes - that's why the quantities are not exact as we like our food with plenty of sauce.
Smoked Sausage and Mushroom pasta in creme fraiche sauce
I use 500g dried pasta (penne)
2 x Mattessons smoked sausages (sliced)
fresh garlic (minced/chopped)
mushrooms (sliced/chopped)
large carton half fat creme fraiche
grated cheese of your choice (parmesan and cheddar are the choices here)
Oil
Fresh black pepper from grinder
Boil water and cook the pasta. Whilst the pasta is cooking, slice the sausages and mushrooms, heat some oil in a saucepan, and gently fry the smoked sausage and minced garlic, after 5 mins add the sliced mushrooms to the smoked sausage and garlic mixture. Cook gently trying not to brown too much.
Once pasta is cooked, drain and return to the dry pan, turn the heat down to med/low and add the creme fraiche (I add some, combine it with the pasta and keep doing this until it makes a nice sauce consistency, then add the smoked sausage and mushrooms and gently heat, Season with fresh black pepper from a grinder, stir regularly - once its heated through, serve on warmed plates and sprinkle grated cheese of your cheese - enjoy.

Thanks nmlc for posting the recipe. It sounds delish and OH has been reading over my shoulder and salivating. I will be trying it in the next few days.
Do you have any suggestions for using up the rest of the carton of creme fraiche as I haven't used it a great deal before?
I am currently cooking lamb tagine for tomorrow evening as requested by DD. I had to re make up the recipe as I haven't made it for aaages.
Well have a good evening all. Hugs and kind thoughts to all who need them.
