But Giffgaff and Virgin are just silly prices, so not relevant comparison
I like how you reduced the pricing policies of major companies to "silly".Though they are available options to consumers, so I think it's a valid comparison.
I've never known Vodafone to be cheap. Don't know what deal Sainsbury's have got with them but I wasn't expecting much simply because of the Vodafone connection.0 -
When I said silly prices, I meant uncompetitive/unrealistic, and hence not a good benchmark.
When big companies only offer silly prices this means that they are not seriously interested in that sector of the market.
Companies that are interested in that sector offer competitive prices, and if you want to see if Sainsbury are competitive (for that sector) those are the ones to compare with.
PS Ovivo use the voda network and white use EE0 -

If you think they are competitive why miss out http://www.threemediacentre.co.uk/Press-Releases/793/THREE-GOES-BACK-TO-BASICS-ON-PAY-AS-YOU-GO-LAUNCHES-GAME-CHANGING-OFFER0 -

White Mobile gives you calls for 3p/6p for minute to landline/mobiles, although Texts are 5p each.
Ovivo give you 150 minutes, 250 texts and 500mb free each month and if you need a bit more calls are 8p and texts 5p, but the free allowance is worth a lot.
White Mobile charge 25p a minute for 0845 numbers compared to Sainsbury's 8p a minute.
I must admit the Ovivo deal looks excellent. They charge 12p per minute for 0845 numbers which don't qualify within the free allowance. Users have to put up with a small amount of advertising, which I'm guessing is where Ovivo make their money, but this only appears on the internet. I was expecting Ovivo to send advertising texts but this isn't the case. At least not at the moment anyway.
So thank you for that information, Herongull.0
