Feeling sorry for myself :(

Exactly the same thing happened to me and it's so horrible, isn't it? My specs smashed into my face though and I needed quite a few stitches.
Really knocks your confidence, doesn't it?
Hope you feel better soon OP0 -
I had a nasty fall on the driveway a few weeks ago. I damaged the area above my eye and it bled and I broke my glasses. My knees were badly scuffed and my palm split. The worse damage though was to my arm and ribs (which in retrospect I think were broken). My arm was very badly bruised.
At one point I thought I had broken my elbow but my husband said there were no broken bones there. My arm still aches at night and my ribs are still a bit sore weeks later. Try using arnica cream, it really brings out the bruises. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
Ah, you're all very kind, thank you!
I'm feeling stiff & sore today, my bottom lip is now all swollen too but I can eat a bit more and the purple bruise on my side is a wonderful colour
I now feel sore down my left hip side when I move about and my second toe on my right foot has swollen and is quite bruised - wonder if it might be broken?
My hand does feel better though and a quick peek under the bandage seems to show it looking quite improved.
Will rest up today, I don't intend going out as I do look a sight but counting my blessings

Oh dear, ouch!
There used to be some metal steps up to a shop I used to go to, and I used to dread it raining as they could get so slippery.0
