spend a time on the eBay board and you will see a regular stream of people, who plonk valuable items in jiffy bags and a 2nd class stamp

Regarding carriers UPS, Fedex and the like clearly send international items by air. But within the UK I'm not sure they use airfreight at all. Looking at tracking for my Fedex parcels they go by road to a hub in the midlands and then onward by road. Parcels to the north of Scotland take a day longer even on their '24 hour' services. I've not seen anything being flown.
If this is so they would not need to conform to air regulations.0 -
