MSE News: Tesco Clubcard revamp means shoppers can double-up all year

Boost has two aspects to it -
1) the old Exchange promotion where you convert vouchers in multiples of £5.00 to £10.00 coupons - to spend in-store or Tesco Direct.
2) the old Rewards where vouchers could be converted into u.t.i. four times their value - this is now Boost Partners.
When you look on-line in Boost Partners - it will tell you there the 'exchange' e.g. for every £10.00 in vouchers gives a £30.00 Restaurant token.
But also on that page will be a +/- counter where you can select the value - this is usually in £5.00 amounts.
So you should be able to use £15.00 and use the £45.00 token and pay extra for anything more at the restaurant.

As you are not getting 'vouchers', you are getting an automatic conversion into Virgin Miles, Boost, is not applicable to yourself.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Ah, thank you very much. I am not the brightest of people and I was getting very confused. At least I don't have to worry about it now.
Thanks catman.

I live about equidistant (8 miles) from an Asda, a Morrisons and a Sainsburys, with the nearest Tesco about 12 miles away. I tend to shop at Sainsburys because it is the least awful of the three. Over the last four months, however, I have had to attend hospital for weekly treatment and, because the Tesco is very near the hospital, I have been shopping there a lot. What a pleasant surprise - it was always quiet, well stocked and there were no queues at the checkouts (well, apart from once). I'm almost upset not to be shopping there any more.'Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.' George Carlin0

Why not surprise yourself with much lower prices (around 30%) for pretty much identical goods at Aldi or Lidl?

But beware if you accidentally stay in the car-park for a second longer than allowed Parking Eye will try and charge you
I'd be a little surprised - the Aldi car park (unlike the Tesco one nearby) has unlimited free parking. No Parking Eye, or any other such companies, operating there.0 -
Compared to where I live, It sounds like you live in the middle of nowhere. I am within a 5-10 minute drive of 1 Asda, 3 Tesco's, 2 Sainsbury's, 2 Morrison's, 1 co-op, An Aldi, A couple of Lidl's, a few smaller Asda's, a smaller Morrison's, a Sainsbury's Local and countless Tesco Express stores.
I still find Tesco to be one of the best supermarkets around - our sainsburys shops always seem more expensive and I find the average quality at ASDA not very good. I do some shops at Lidl for certain items that I know I like or which are good value and good quality but their range is just too limited for my liking and some of the own brand stuff is not as good. They also dont deliver and do not carry everything all the time.
I imagine however that their stores will vary by area according to local management. I also prefer to go shopping about 1.00 am when it is quiet, or have items delivered, and not all supermarkets offer this
I am however disappointed by the range of departments in the double up scheme at the moment. The few departments left in are of little value to me and I hope they will increase soon.
I may not be following MSE principles but I prefer the clubcard and nectar schemes as opposed to getting a few pence off items here and there. The few pence I just dont notice - but being able to suddenly buy something that I would normally think I shouldn't afford is a nice feeling. However this will go if they dont increase the range soon!0 -

I am surprised that you say that, as although for in-store use it may be limited, on-line at Tesco Direct (or in-store at the 'Direct' desk) - it is every department, as long as it is a Tesco supplied item (not third party).I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Thanks No1 - son was only asking about the clothing last night - I had no idea online was different.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0
