At first glance the double up whilst all year round looks far more restrictive in what you can buy - remains to be seen what the extra depts. will be at say, Christmas.0

"Clubcard vouchers can be converted to Boost tokens from 9am on 29 July until 31 December. Tokens are then valid for six months"
Does this mean that Clubcard vouchers will no longer be valid after 31/12/13?
The article doesn't make clear whether the Clubcard vouchers themselves are continuing or not?0 -
"Customers will still however be able to use their Clubcard vouchers to take money off their shopping at face value."
Looks pretty clear to me. I've never bothered with any of their over-complicated offers to get more money off things I don't need anyway. I have always just spent the vouchers with my normal shopping. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

thats a bit of a waste of money
fair enough if none of the offers interest you but you can sell vouchers on ebay for cash for about double their face value
( also most people eat at least some frozen food - a repeated previous clubcard exchange offer )0 -
Far too little, far too late to save Tesco from slipping further and further downwards.
The genie's already out of the bottle.
People have discovered that Aldi and Lidl charge around 25-30% less than Tesco for much the same products (often of better quality) made by exactly the same food suppliers. A couple of % back via Clubcard is a total irrelevance by comparison.
Which is maybe why the nice new Aldi opened a year or two back next to the scruffy old Tesco 'superstore' locally is now extremely busy, and the once-packed Tesco has lost a large chunk of its trade.
Greed, arrogance and complacency by Tesco in the past is now serving up its just desserts. :rotfl:0 -

Much of what you say is true, but and it is a big but, not all of us have much choice. I live in a town with one supermarket - Mr T. My nearest others (Aldi and Morrison) are 12 miles away, or in the case of Asda 25 miles away, with journey costs outweighing any savings.
We used to have a Somerfield which was poor and closed after the Mr T took most of their business - this is now a Home Bargains and does undercut Mr T but only on the products it sells - no fresh food whatsoever, no frozen food either.
AS we simply cannot afford the prices in our local butcher (1), greengrocer (1) or bakers (2), Mr T it is. Which is why I take a keen interest in the Clubcard scheme and what it can do for me.:)0 -

I agree. Since Terry Leahy's departure they seem to be on a slippery downward slope with shoddy stores, poor quality products and appalling service. I will go out of my way to avoid shopping there since after every visit I feel like I need a shower. I have some unpsent vouchers from last year that will probably remain unpsent until they expire, I just can't bring myself to give them any share of my spending.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

We rarely shop at Mr T now, except if I spot a good offer-they are cheapest for pepsi at the mo so Oh will pop in on his way home and always has a peek at the reduced stuff as well.
I use Aldi and Lidl, plus we are lucky to be semi rural here and have 2 brill farm shops. One is for meat and the family became butchers to be able to sell their beef direct a number of years ago. They went from a portacabin on the farm yard to a proper shop-still on the farm yard lol. They sell high welfare, high quality locally produced beef and FR chicken and pork. They make their own sausages and burgers and cure their own bacon. Their prices are usually around the same as the big stores and sometimes lower. The other shop does veggies/fruit and cheese, again local to the fore and often cheaper than the big stores like mr T. In both cases much higher quality and better tastes than the big stores, so in areas like ours the local shops plus the discounters are killing Mr T.
The Aldi is really busy everyday of the week. I can remember going in when it first opened and I could go on say a tues morning and there would be me and my baby, plus another mum and little one and maybe 2 pensioner couples at most lol.
However we do use them for petrol so with the bits and petrol often end up with around £5 or £6 vouchers which we save for the doubling thing for clothing/toys or use for the days out vouchers so glad the scheme for these is staying-at least for now.

That's not very MSE:eek:; assuming your talking Clubcard Vouchers (which is what the thread is about) and not money off vouchers, why would you not at least spend them at their face value - Mr T must have something you can buy without adding more to the vouchers?0
