What an earth has this got to do with discussing Clubcard Vouchers and the revamp of the Clubcard scheme, which you obviously no longer have any interest in?

This is a discussion forum. It's a perfectly fair (and unsurprising) comment on the way Tesco views its customers. You do, of course, have the choice to disregard it. :)

Rubbish; it's a Shop but don't drop thread about the Clubcard scheme and imminent changes which doesn't need infecting by anti Tesco fanatics.
  • I temped at Tesco HQ - in the Marketing department - for a few months last year. They couldn't give a flying f%*! about their customers. Their only concerns are the bottom line and keeping their shareholders happy. I know because I was in meetings where this was explicitly stated, that and worse. I've had the privilege of working for many big organisations & household brands over the years, but what I saw and heard at Tesco turned me off them for life. You have not gained £130, they have gained your loyalty and, I would guess a reasonable share of your wallet. They no longer get that from me.

still can't really understand why you don't just spend the vouchers - get £130 of goods then stop shopping at Tesco thereafter... they don't have your loyalty anymore and you're £130 better off/ they're £130 worse off. Cutting your nose off to spite your face springs to mind!

"Clubcard vouchers can be converted to Boost tokens from 9am on 29 July until 31 December. Tokens are then valid for six months"

Does this mean that Clubcard vouchers will no longer be valid after 31/12/13?

The article doesn't make clear whether the Clubcard vouchers themselves are continuing or not?

Does anyone know the answer to the question previously asked "Does this mean that Clubcard vouchers will no longer be valid after 31/12/13?"?

Jo4; it doesn't look like it. I guess we will all have to consult Mr T's website tomorrow and hope that has some clarity!

I do wish the MSE reporters would do a bit more research and anticipation of possible queries before they rush into type!!!

No, no change in the 'valid until dates on the vouchers.

There are three basic ways you can use your vouchers:

    1) at face value, in-store or on-line for Direct or GHS,

    2) three or four times the value for 'deals' e.g. restaurants, days out etc. via the Rewards Department, and

    3) at twice the value (every £5.00) for the 'Exchange' for particular categories of products, either in-store or on-line.

The change concerns 2 & 3 - Rewards & Exchange is being renamed 'Boost' - it seems there was some confusion with some people which was which!

Whereas before the Exchange Token only had a limited life - about six weeks, that is being made the same as the Rewards timespan - six months.

It's still up to you how and when you spend them, as long as it's before the expiry date - NB no rollovers now of 'expired' vouchers.

    Thanks for making that clearer.:T

In the case of Clubcard vouchers that are very near expiry date, will it still be possible to use one to buy, say a 20p newspaper, and get the balance of the voucher recredited to my CC account and extend their life that way?

    Easy - no!
You can't get 'change' from using CC vouchers in-store - either change in cash or points.

If overspend in 'Rewards' - you may have a £11.50 voucher for a £10.00 'deal, you'll get a 'change from rewards' transaction about a week before the cut-off for the next mailing.

Have come across this thread whilst looking for information about morries.

I am hoping maybe someone on here could understand the "boost" thing to me??
I have a clubcard which I use for fuel and shopping and I have selected the virgin airmiles option.

I have read the boost thing over and over and even picked up the wee booklet from our local tescimos but I just can't figure it out. Sorry if I sound a bit stupid but I am trying to get as much airmiles as I can by October 2015. (I want to take my mum, auntie and cousin to new york for less than £500 each and it looks like the best wa to achieve this).
    :o

Sorry to interupt and thank you for your time.
