Or kids trainers if you are a 4- as I am ! save myself £20 each time! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Make sure you have a poo at work. Doing this means that you can save water and toilet paper. And think you are also being paid to do your big jobs!0

Join your local FREECYCLE scheme, find them on the internet.
You give things away and ask for what you would like to be given.
Works very well0 -

i have just discovered a toy library in my area. i dont know if this happens all over, but basically you can borrow good toys for about £1 for 2 weeks. also you can take your kids along just to play. mine cost just £1.50 for a years membership, and each visit is free for the kiddies to play. you only pay for coffee etc if you want it. also they sell good clothes for parents too.Piggypoints balance: 525 points, £10 Cashed out :jValued Opinions balance: £20.50, £10 Cashed out :j0

BLACKHURSTM wrote:Tip from an old thread. If you use a dishwasher, cut the tablets in half.I have been using this tip for 6 months now sometimes you need to use a full tablet, but not very often.
if things arent greasy, you can use no powder at all, as the water is so hot. I discovered this when I had run out of powder - by the way, loose powder is much cheaper than tablets - and things still got clean - or you can use a tiny bit of powder0 -
How about checking out the store's 'reduced to clear' shelves, any day or night? I did
yesterday,and saved myself a huge amount of money!0 -
Always buy stuff like rice, pasta, dishwasher powder, washing powder, olive oil, potatoes, toilet rolls, etc. (i.e. anything that won't go off and that you won't be tempted to consume as soon as it gets in the house, like chocolate!) in the largest volumes you can store. If you look at the price-per-unit labels in the supermarkets you'll see there is an incredible difference - buying small volumes is really expensive!
Do the same with herbs and spices - the Schwarz jars cost about £1.30 for 28g - if you go to your local asian corner shop you'll find a much better selection, much larger quantities, for pretty much the same price or less. You just need something to store it in - you can use old jam jars with screw top lids. There seems to be an "ethnic" thing going on here - even in the supermarkets there is usually an "ethnic" section where they sell asian, kosher, etc. Sometimes you'll find the same stuff here as in the rest of the supermarket, but much cheaper. Recently I bought a 400g pack of almonds (I've got a great almond pesto spaghetti recipe!) for about £2.50 - on the regular nuts shelves they sell 100g packs for about £1.50!
Another "ethnic" bargain I found was halal stewing lamb - it's about a quid a pack cheaper than the "normal" equivalent, and it tastes just as good!£2 coin savers club: £1.49
