  • All this hassle and small talk for a measly £70 a week.

    Maybe I'm missing something.
  • so far had 3 appointments with job centre advisers. in them they have changed my jsa agreement and threatened courses. they also mandated me to see a careers adviser. it is looking likely as i already mentioned that they will make me do maths and literacy.

You reminded me of this so thanks

On the two week course they asked people if any courses were needed through the college, the jobcentre can fast track your entry into the courses apparently

The maths and literacy thing is just insulting we all did that in school.... they cannot changed an agreement if you signed it.. isn't that breaking the law?

I always assume once you signed something 'its official' so they shouldn't be allowed to change it?

  • I made an account just to post in this thread, I'm also on post work programme support and my experience has been quite different from some of the peoples I've been reading across the internet and in this thread.

I've been made to come see my personal adviser every day for a month now, and recently they've assigned me to an A4E course I must attend every week for 6 weeks, but the advisers at the job centre don't make me come in every day whilst I'm on this course; but they make me come and see them after every A4E appointment.

It seems to definitely be a different experience dependant on which job centre you're at. Does anyone know what will happen after the six months have passed?

there are a number of providers for the maths and literacy here. one thing i am worried about is being forced to do a college course i have no interest in and probably little chance of passing.

Its been in the newspapers yesterday too that they are going to announce this at the conference.

Where are they going to get all these 'jobs' from?

Got a job = pay someone NMW to do it!!

I would imagine it will be along the lines of litter picking and other public activities that councils are struggling/could save money on.
