After the Work Programme

When did that happen ?
Do you know why, as it overlaps with Community Work Placement scheme due in April.
Are they having problems with this ?
We got told at a meeting last week, as usual they are still working out the finer points but community work placement etc will still be going ahead.. so it's sounding like a double barbed approach.0 -
Who said I was in their good books? Also I never knew my advisor was on here!donnajunkie wrote: »be careful you may no longer be in their good books saying stuff like this. We’ve had to remove your signature. yeah, i was told at the jc that 6 months not claiming would reset everything to square one if you claimed again.Hmm good question, I believe the linking period is 26 weeks so you would start from the beginning as a brand new claim again. But as I'm not 100% sure. I will check tomorrow and come back to you if that's ok?0 -
They're making it up as they go along, from differences PWPS was run round country and regular changes.Found this
Seems like there will be 3 options for people
http://www.dwp.gov.uk/esf/news/community-work-placements.shtml
'Community Work Placements is a mandatory scheme designed for those JSA claimants returning from the Work Programme whose key barrier to work is a lack of work experience, motivation or both, and offers them a significant period of full-time activity.'
Like this bit:
"Six months on a full-time work placement will provide claimants with a significant boost to their CV"
Totally deluded.
When I returned to Jobcentre after 2 years on Work Programme, my advisor never asked a single question about what happened in those 2 years, not one single question and never asked much about the MWA placement during PWPS he put me on. So how would DWP/Jobcentres know anything about these schemes, what they are really like, they don't follow-up on anything !0 -
no not ignoring anything. i am aware of the factors that impact on sanction decisions, i did list them. the reason i did that is because it is claimed that all 95% of sanctions that are upheld were right to be upheld. some will yes but not all.sensibleadvice wrote: »Ah the regular diversionary tactic, keep on nit picking and ignoring the core points.
Some being 95%.
And yet still the mindset that someone else should take responsibility.0 -
Yes, they need to cover not having enough placements or people not going on them for whatever reason. We got told at a meeting last week, as usual they are still working out the finer points but community work placement etc will still be going ahead.. so it's sounding like a double barbed approach.
So who knows, I could be back with my advisor again, who I thought I had seen last of, last week. :eek:0 -
you are talking nonesense. the you dont have to sign if you dont like it was said in relation to workfare being called slavery. nothing to do with whether a person wants to job seek.sensibleadvice wrote: »Ah the regular diversionary tactic, keep on nit picking and ignoring the core points.
It's crystal clear, there's a quite reasonable option to job seek as per JSA and the appropriate allowance will be paid. After being unsuccessful for a period, WP is a requirement of the JSAg.0 -
i am going to give up trying to get people to see the unfairness in the example.Getting over the quality of the apps. It really isn't that hard to grasp that you have to be actively seeking work for the entire period in which you are claiming benefits. To me, that means actively seeking work for at least 40 hours in every week cycle.0 -
..... So how would DWP/Jobcentres know anything about these schemes, what they are really like, they don't follow-up on anything !
I've spoken to a few advisors at my Job Centre when they've asked about the WP. I don't talk positively about WP at all and their response is that's what they hear a lot. They know they're not working and probably of no good to a lot of people but .....
