I doubt anyone has a problem with them having access if it was ONLY to look at recorded job seeking activities.
The reason I won't allow access is because an advisor can message you about a job or recommend you apply for one (through UJM) and if you don't act on that you will be sanctioned.

If it wasn't for that one and only reason I would have no problems whatsoever allowing access.

They can email you too, can't they?

Everyone's jobcentre is different, of course, but given there are plenty of free webmail addresses and given how important having an email address is for some vacancies I imagine anyone who doesn't have an email address will pretty quickly be required to obtain one and check it regularly.

Honestly, if a JSA official WANTS to sanction you he or she will probably find a way. I know that I could with pretty much anyone, even if they were trying to get a job. Best way is to fly under the radar IMHO.

Why should they want to sanction you though. They are supposed to help.

its all got abit draconian to be honest.

As a rule I think most of them want to help you. They have to follow the rules just like everyone else, though, and if you go out of the way to be a pain in the... posterior... or you catch someone in a bad mood, or their boss has just made it plain they'll be the unemployed person if they don't sanction more people...

    .....

Yes, I would have thought so.

Apart from one awkward advisor I've not had any problems with JC. They seem quite happy with my job seeking activities and lately, because I'm on WP, they haven't even been looking at my 'evidence'.
It's crazy. One week they can have you up against a wall and the next it seems they couldn't give a ---- .

The boss shouldnt be telling them to sanction more people though why is this being allowed. It should be put on tv and sanctions all stopped.

people ars only claiming what they are entitled too. Sanctioning people dosent get people into work it just creates misery.

Only if sanctions are necessary. Aren't you curious why they're asking you?
do you really think all sanctions that are made are fair and valid? it is fair to say a person that has those questions in mind is wondering why(curious) they do it. otherwise they wouldnt come to any conclusions. so why dont you answer those questions instead of firing them back at me. if someone is desperate for access to someones account and uses dishonest tactics to persuade them why wouldnt you be suspitious? they have no need to access your account if their intentions are 100% decent. they can do a honest job without access.

I agree with you Red Devil. But the current system was put in place by the last labour government, and the conservatives seem intent on extending and making it worse. So, that's the world we live in.

Being obstructive is helping advisors sanction you.
no it is not. witholding access is not against the rules. they cant sanction you for that.

Do you really think an advisor having access makes a difference to whether someone is referred to a DM? Or that having access somehow miraculously makes it easier for us?
why so desperate for access? why use dishonest tactics to get access?
