The interface & job application logging would go other way, from external job boards back to UJM.
External job boards have no real interest in logging their job applications on UJM.
Each one would have to develop an interface back to UJM.
Of course they don't have problem advertising on UJM, as I assume they advertise for free & DWP/Jobcentre magically get UJM full of 10s of thousands of jobs.
The politics is more important than whether it works well in real world
'External job boards have no real interest in logging their job applications on UJM.'
But the UJM should have an interest in a site that works
Reed and the like still record jobs you have hit apply on and been diverted to another site. It's the UJM that have not made a site that's works along with Monster as no one thought of it.
All adverts on the UJM are free and I have suggested before they ban the companies that flood the site when it was old site but no one seems to care. We’ve had to remove your signature. The fact that you have hit Apply button on Reed does not confirm you have applied on the other site, unless they have an interface back to Reed.
UJM as government site could not have system like that, as people could just hit Apply & not actually apply on other site.
The clueless Tories are obsessed with control, they want to monitor & control jobseekers on UJM, as they want to verify for benefit payments.0 -
Does Reed know you have applied on another redirected to site?

Not 100% for Reed to know that but it is registered on the Reed acct and even so I still have to write it down for the JSA as a job I have applied for. Its not for Reed to care if you have applied or not but it would be for the UJM You also get an email from Reed saying
XXXXX, you expressed an interest in the following role
Job details:
Job title: Purchase Ledger Clerk
Location: Croydon, Surrey
Salary: Competitive salary
Job reference number: JS-SAC
If you have not already done so, please complete the application on Superdrug's site.
The UJM ALLOW advertisers to put links in the APPLY button but if they wanted to mandate everyone to show the JC their accounts this is where they will 100% trip themselves up!We’ve had to remove your signature. Working on another technology solution for a public body at the moment, I can see how this sort of problem with UJM happens.
A very vague set of requirements is mentioned by someone high up, then the people delivering the technology don't spend enough (if any) time speaking to people who will actually use the system, making incorrect assumptions about how it's meant to work based on their own limited experience (but with good intentions). And no one checks on it until it's too late.
This almost happened on my current project, but thankfully I have access to people with 'Boots on the ground' so I have them look at what I'm doing, even if my manager wants everything to go through him.0 -

that's not an accounts job though is it?0

Because..................most of the jobs I would apply for either say the email address on there as the employer wants the CV and a cover letter of they are all agency jobs advertised elsewhere. Also that's how I have been using the site with no account as I told the JC you don't need one to apply to a lot of jobs.
The apply button is a link that takes you to these sites.
I bet the JCA's have no idea why these jobs don't get recorded but I may ask her next week if she knows.
yes it is possible to jobsearch without being registered but some jobs with an apply button require you to be registered to apply for them.0 -
Here are the top 8 from top 200 advertisers on UJM, all external jobs boards or aggregators which collect jobs & bulk upload them to UJM.
They are responsible for 200,000+ jobs advertised on UJM.
All these jobs will not be recorded on UJM Apply button, except those by CIT (where they expect you to apply via external link in ad).

And to top it all none of what I look at is recorded as a job search activity so Id love to know who the UJM even know you are using it and for how long. We’ve had to remove your signature.
