But the UJM should have an interest in a site that works

Reed and the like still record jobs you have hit apply on and been diverted to another site. It's the UJM that have not made a site that's works along with Monster as no one thought of it.

All adverts on the UJM are free and I have suggested before they ban the companies that flood the site when it was old site but no one seems to care.

Does Reed know you have applied on another redirected to site?

The fact that you have hit Apply button on Reed does not confirm you have applied on the other site, unless they have an interface back to Reed.

UJM as government site could not have system like that, as people could just hit Apply & not actually apply on other site.

The clueless Tories are obsessed with control, they want to monitor & control jobseekers on UJM, as they want to verify for benefit payments.

Not 100% for Reed to know that but it is registered on the Reed acct and even so I still have to write it down for the JSA as a job I have applied for. Its not for Reed to care if you have applied or not but it would be for the UJM You also get an email from Reed saying

The UJM ALLOW advertisers to put links in the APPLY button but if they wanted to mandate everyone to show the JC their accounts this is where they will 100% trip themselves up!

Working on another technology solution for a public body at the moment, I can see how this sort of problem with UJM happens.

A very vague set of requirements is mentioned by someone high up, then the people delivering the technology don't spend enough (if any) time speaking to people who will actually use the system, making incorrect assumptions about how it's meant to work based on their own limited experience (but with good intentions). And no one checks on it until it's too late.

This almost happened on my current project, but thankfully I have access to people with 'Boots on the ground' so I have them look at what I'm doing, even if my manager wants everything to go through him.

Yeah as I have said I have worked in a place where it was 'too late' and oh how we laughed at their stupidity.

no, but you arent restricting yourself to just applying for working in accounts. you seem to be trying to say there are no jobs that can be applied for that way. that simply isnt true. like i said i manage to find 1 or 2 everyday. i dont spend all day and night searching like you do either.

I bet the JCA's have no idea why these jobs don't get recorded but I may ask her next week if she knows.

many agency jobs can be applied for useing the button and are recorded in application activity. they dont all take you to a third party website.
yes it is possible to jobsearch without being registered but some jobs with an apply button require you to be registered to apply for them.

yes i know alot are like that. all i was pointing out is it is possible for me at least to find enough jobs to apply for that are recorded in the application history. my advice was if someone is worried that most of what they do isnt recorded then they could actively try to ensure they find enough of those jobs that are recorded to ensure they are covered against jobcentre dodginess.

Well I have clicked on 10 jobs just now and none are via the UJM site at all

And to top it all none of what I look at is recorded as a job search activity so Id love to know who the UJM even know you are using it and for how long.

it is annoying most jobs arent recorded.
