My niece lives in South Lincolnshire and has been job hunting for over a year, you will actually find while Lincolnshire also has very high unemployment rates it also has few employment opportunities and vacancies.
I do not want to come across arrogant, but after leaving my permanent job last year, I then worked at 7 different jobs.
I was in a desperate situation, so when I was not in work I had to go out every day to the employment agency's and look online.
There is stuff out there, it's just not great stuff.0 -

I bet they have little on no accounts experience!jacques_chirac wrote: »Yes, which entirely disproves your statement:
You seem to think that AAT is something special. You need to get some perspective - it really is not.
I didn't say it was something special at all, did I?
I am saying I can not get an interview even for a junior role in accounts with 23 years experience and I have applied for jobs as a cleaner, shop staff, admin too. We’ve had to remove your signature. I know nothing at all about factory work but ask yourself this is they were working there FREE and only a FEW got jobs after a year why was that? Must have all been good enough to work for FREE!
I did not say after a year. They worked for 1 week, sent via the Job Centre.
Those who worked hardest and turned up were offered a position three weeks later.0 -
Three weeks surely?drbraindead wrote: »I did not say after a year. They worked for 1 week, sent via the Job Centre.

I am talking about professional people, not accounting technicians.
Again, you need to tailor your applications to the job that you are applying for. Your accounting experience is seemingly out of date, so you need to put that aside and sell your transferable/ soft skills instead.0 -
I am not an accounting technician either......Yeah so out of date that I have many replies saying I have too much experience. You don't need any for a junior job.jacques_chirac wrote: »I am talking about professional people, not accounting technicians.

LOL you know nothing at all.
No one in a factory is going to give an interview to AAT qualified accounts people.
I can not even get an interview for an accounts junior as I have too much experience and they say I will leave as soon as something else comes along!
You are the type that thinks people like me thinks yippee when they get made redundant and think oh that's ok I wont get £600 a week anymore the $71.70 is just great, thanks!
There are people with various qualifications and backgrounds in factory's.
I do not believe in being "over qualified"
Anyone can do cleaning or if you can drive, driving jobs. The list goes on.
Last week there was a programe on the BBC called "we pay your taxes" (check your catch up tv).
There was a student who had done well at uni with a 2.1 in media studies, he went to be a care worker.0 -

I struggle to believe that someone in south Linc's couldn't find work right through both the holiday and harvest seasons0
