I'm all for positive thinking in terms of working positively towards a specific goal. If you don't achieve it, at least you know you've tried everything. Depending what the goal is, it can mean years of hard work and slog

I had an interesting discussion once with a religious colleague about the power of prayer. I'm not religious, but to me that's more passively wishing and hoping rather than actively doing something. And isn't that akin to The Secret by Rhonda Byrne? http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Secret-Rhonda-Byrne/dp/1847370292

What did your colleague say regarding the power of prayer?

It was some years ago but recall my colleague, being religious, believed in praying and I couldn't shake her belief. She had a relative seriously ill who became better supposedly because my colleague and others prayed for her.

It was a case of prove there is a God against prove there isn't.

Try something small like positively wishing for a parking space when you KNOW there are never any free where you want them.

It can work :D but don't bother with hoping for the lottery etc. Just hope for the small things that make life easier!

    Worth a try;)
