Thank you for all your responses it has been a lousy morning and to be honest I really don't feel like it will get any better but your advice and opinions have kept my spirits up.... Roll on when we can leave!0

Surprised no-one has suggested registering this as an offical dispute with the council, it will have to be declared when they sell either property.0

I was advised by Shelter to do this Guest101 and I will be contacting them tomorrow. I will also advising the Estate Agents that dealt with us initially as they are the ones who gave us the tenancy, although the land lord manages it.0

Go to B&Q, get barrel locks change the lock on the garage and house. Empty his stuff from garage and turn power off. If he appears and tries to enter the garage or steps onto your property tell him to leave and call police if he does'nt go. Did you agree to him using the leccy? If not, its theft and tell him so.0

Make sure you pay the full electric bill as it is in your name and not the Landlords.
You do not need a reference from him so as others have said turn off the electric to the garage if you do not use the building !0 -
No permission to use Electricity was never given and they never asked, they just presumed as it was their house they could do what they like. I asked them to stop but they have continued.0

No they don't pay for the electricity we do! But their counter argument was that we have used their logs (which we were actively encouraged to use as it was blocking up our driveway!)
