Sat Nav Directions to Manchester Ikea??

On the Manchester Ikea website the address is...

IKEA Manchester
Wellington Rd
Ashton-Under-Lyne
Tameside
Manchester
OL6 7TE

But it says to use the postcode OL6 7HX in Sat Navs.

However, when you put both postcodes in Google Maps (Satellite view) you can clearly see Ikea with the OL6 7TE postcode and OL6 7HX is actually 7 minutes driving time away!

Please can someone tell me if there is a reason why Ikea would put a different postcode for Sat Navs and is there confusing road layouts I need to be aware of? We are travelling from Manchester Airport and will be calling in for our £1.50 breakfast after our holiday!
Hope someone can help.

Sat navs are not the final say in destination, when you put your home address in, once you are on your road, the device may say you have reached your destination, where you are still a few houses away. As for the difference in post codes, Ikea sites are large and you may find the warehouse entry door has a different post code to the customer entrance door.

I have no idea why Ikea would want to send you into the middle of nowhere - if anything, the incorrect postcode is more likely to send you through the centre of Ashton.

If coming from Manchester Airport, my suggestion is that you come up the M56 and then get on the M60 eastbound. Follow it round to come off at the Ashton junction (J23 I think), turn left at the top of the sliproad and then straight across the next junction. It'll feed you onto the Lord Sheldon Way, and you simply follow that round until Ikea is slap bang in front of you like a huge yellow Lego block.

If you need any food etc, Sainsbury's is next door.

A 5 night trip to Prague courtesy of Tesco Clubcard Vouchers exchanged to Avios (Airmiles)! Won't have much English money left!

ETA: I'm actually typing out all the directions and postcodes for the Travelodge, airport parking, Tesco fuel stations, etc. for our trip next week. I've already done my currency exchange table to help me when I go shopping in Prague.

Maybe there is a difference with the warehouse entrance but a 2.1 mile difference? (try putting both postcodes in Google maps  )

is the listed address on google, perhaps the 2 postcodes border, and google is showing the centre of the post code area, but agree 2.1 miles is some way, perhaps it's the way the vectors are input onto the satnav database, My brothers street is not listed on any satnav, well it is but as a different name eg place instead of road.

On the left hand side of the page (and also just under the map) it clearly shows the address and postcode but says "For sat nav users please use postcode OL6 7HX".
