Most of the middle eastern 'tobacco' used in these pipes are mostly formed of sugar i think, the risk as always is in the carcinogenic effects of burning it which is why vaping [still not risk free] is becoming popular.Stop Smoking Services are not just about handing out patches to patients though. We use CBT and Counselling skills to help our patients quit. We run a very successful service and help thousands of people quit every year, its just a shame the prevelance of smoking is not decreasing as alot of children are still taking up the habit.
Never understood why my tax money goes towards getting idiots these kinds of services, i was point blank refused CBT from my GP and had to wait 5 months via a specialist to get it for a serious chronic condition.
Also handing out patches and such with no restrictions like candy to babies is a disgrace. There should be restricted quantity per person to protect the public purse.
I suppose you will argue prevention saves the NHS a fortune but so does letting them die younger.
