Glad to see the sigs are working again :)

I'm unwell with a cold so OH has been doing the shopping. Up to £26.99 with 2 days to go which would be fine but I need to stock up on dog food which will no doubt send me over £50 along with the few bits of fresh that I need.

Overhauling OHs diet too on doctors orders which will cost more. I've been telling him for years but he just wouldn't listen.

    £23.01 left to play with.

  • Think I need to find a new way to keep track of my grocery spends, but I think I did a £44.25 shop in T*sco last Thursday and did a small £7.13 co-*p shop last night...??

Sorry am I missing something, is it not possible to keep the receipt? I have made a place in my purse (one of the credit card sections) where I have started to store receipts.

I do the same as iammumtoone :money:

If you bank online you could check there? That's assuming you paid by card of course.

Hi, I shop at the market a lot and you don't get a receipt, or at the butchers unless you ask for one. I use an app on my phone but you could use a small notebook and pencil. HTH

  • How do you do hassleback potatoes? Are they just the same as roast, only cut differently?

We have a range local but lucky it is on one of the out of town shopping areas, I don't go up that way so I am not tempted, lovely things but I would spend a fortune if I went in (especially in craft section)

I use a free app called account tracker and I have it set up with my current account, my savings account and my grocery challenge spends. As soon as I spend something it just takes a second to update so I know at any given time how much I've spent and more importantly how much I've got left. I can also see ahead as we have so many credits and direct debits going in and out so very handy x

The best thing I ever did was to use cash,
I put the budget in a separate purse. I was always losing receipts, forgetting what I spent on the card, now I can see at a glance what I have spent and what is left.

I always use cash as I find it easier to keep track of.
It also makes me think twice about buying stuff.
