Happy birthday for Sunday Coxy
Spent £27.77 in A1di this morning and then £8.41 in the butchers so a total of £36.18 The butchers was dearer than it ought to have been because DH managed to park once he had dropped me off and then follow me in and he asked for a couple of things I wasn't planning on buying.
Will need some fruit & veg tomorrow in Morri$ons.

I always use their version of utterly butterly for my cake baking and get fantastic results and that's 500g for around 89p if I remember rightly so slightly cheaper. Not tried those blocks you mentioned though, sorry xGrocery challenge June 2016

Need to buy peppers, paprika/smoked/normal and tomatoes if I'm going to make the beef ghou lash on sunday - the recipe also calls for bay leaves which I have albeit they are a couple of years out of date?! What's the deal with spices? I've got various jars, some out of date, some not - I guess they don't go off - just lose their flavour?
Finally for now, i need to get some more food boxes to freeze unwanted portions - which ones/where best to get ? or are freezer bags better?
I got myself an aldi pressure cooker i have been making soup base of peelings with some ood bayleaves and some very old chillies. Not that bad you know.and for the food / freezer bags i got 250 food/freezer bags from home bargains very stong usually i use cheap food bags but they do go in holes not that it makes much difference with my soupsGc 2013 +26 -5. -4 -7 -14 -15 -10.-8.20 +15p+30+5.80 Dec +9 GROCERY challenge 2014 Jan -2Feb -3 March -1.50 April +5.40 May +4.90 June -3.July 16.50/85

Happy birthday Coxy!
Just found out OH has not only bought completely unneeded rubbish the last couple of days but has also thrown out 4 eggs just because they were a few days OOD :mad::mad: I was planning to make mini quiches for my own lunches next week with them and was really looking forward to them! I have reduced smoked salmon in the freezer that was going to go in them and everythingI mean fair enough if he's paranoid enough to not want to eat them but why waste them when I'd be happy to???
Will update with the damage once I've gathered his receipts!Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Bake on tray in oven - 190-200 depends on your oven for about 30 mins or until golden.

I sometimes cook extra wedges for when I am eating alone - store in fridge - just warm them in the MW.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hiya -don't buy freezer boxes but just save all tubs such as margarine and give them a good wash. (You could buy some cheap food boxes from local pound shop to start you off.)
Then buy freezer bags from the super -grab-your-money-market. Pop a bag in the box and add food to freeze, suck out as much air as possible and tie tightly. DON'T FORGET TO LABEL EVERYTHING WITH NAME AND DATE WITH A BLACKMARKER PEN !!!
Then everything is a good shape to stack and you can reuse tubs when contents are frozen. Saves time and money on washing up as well :rotfl:
Good luck and happy freezing. When you get in the habit make double portions every time you cook and freeze half for another day. Saves time and money on cooking. :money:£10day.2014=3213/2015=3421/2016=3238/2017=2702/2018=498..APR=12.03/300
